There is no verified public pay schedule showing how much every Love Is Blind contestant makes each season. Reporting on former Season 2 contestant Jeremy Hartwell’s lawsuit described an alleged rate of $1,000 per week, up to $8,000 for the filming period. Those figures are allegations, not a confirmed rate for every cast member or season. Courthouse News Service separately reported a $1.4 million class-action settlement; that was a legal settlement, not a season paycheck.
What the reported pay figures mean
The commonly cited figures come from allegations in Hartwell’s lawsuit, as described in media coverage. They should not be treated as an official Netflix pay scale or a guarantee of what any contestant received.

| Figure | What it refers to | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| $1,000 per week | A weekly rate alleged in Hartwell’s lawsuit and reported by Business Insider. | A confirmed rate for every participant, season, or contract. |
| Up to $8,000 | The alleged maximum for the filming period described in the same reporting. | A guaranteed total for every cast member, or pay per episode. |
| $1.4 million | The reported amount of the class-action settlement in Hartwell’s case, according to Courthouse News Service. | An individual contestant’s season earnings or ordinary filming pay. |
The available reporting describes weekly compensation, not a verified per-episode rate. Because the alleged total depended on the filming period, it also does not show that every participant spent the same number of weeks on the show.
Is there a pay rate for every season?
No season-by-season pay table is established by the available sources. A published analysis of a Season 5 participant agreement says compensation was tied to the number of weeks a participant was involved, but one contract version cannot establish what contestants in other seasons were paid. Reality Blurred’s analysis of the Season 5 agreement also summarizes contract language stating that participation was not employment and did not entitle participants to wages or salary under a collective bargaining agreement.

#1 Best Overall
That contract language and the pay allegations address different things: what a particular agreement said about the relationship, and what a former contestant alleged about compensation. Neither supplies a public, authoritative rate for every cast member.

Labor disputes have continued to draw attention to the show’s participant agreements, but allegations in a lawsuit are not a finding that all contestants received a particular wage. In September 2025, the Los Angeles Times reported that Season 7 participant Stephen Richardson sued over alleged minimum-wage and overtime violations, among other claims. The report does not establish a universal rate for the cast.
Rank #2
A separate contract issue concerns an early-exit penalty. In 2024, the Los Angeles Times reported that producer Chris Coelen said a $50,000 penalty clause had not been enforced and had been removed from contracts in recent seasons. That statement concerns the clause’s enforcement and reported removal—not contestant earnings or a pay rate.

What can—and cannot—be concluded
- The $1,000 weekly rate and up-to-$8,000 filming-period total are reported allegations tied to Hartwell’s lawsuit, not confirmed universal pay figures.
- There is no verified public table establishing what contestants make in each season.
- The $1.4 million figure is a reported class-action settlement, not season compensation.
- Season, contract version, and weeks involved matter; the available sources do not establish a complete comparison of pay across contestants or seasons.
