There is no reliable, comparable public list of ten celebrities’ annual security bills. The clearest recent disclosure is from Meta: it reported about $8.5 million in direct personal-security costs for Mark Zuckerberg in 2025, separate from a $14 million annual security allowance. Those are company-reported costs for a corporate executive’s program—not a verified measure of what entertainers personally pay.
What the best-documented security bill includes
Meta’s 2026 proxy statement reports $8,498,301 in direct personal-security costs for Zuckerberg in 2025. It also reports a separate $14 million annual pre-tax security allowance for him and his family. The filing’s description of the program makes clear why the categories matter: Meta pays for personal security at residences and during personal travel, including security personnel and the procurement, installation, and maintenance of certain residential security measures. Why a “10 celebs” ranking would be misleading
The available figures do not support a defensible top-ten list of entertainers and their annual security bills. The strongest numbers here come from company filings about executives. A company-funded executive protection program is not necessarily an individual’s personal spending, and figures for different people often count different things.

- Direct security costs: Reported expenses for protection, which may include personnel and residential measures.
- Allowances or perquisites: A budget or compensation item that may fund security but is not the same measure as direct costs.
- Family, travel, and home protection: Coverage can extend beyond an individual at public appearances.
- Public event policing: Police or government security at an event is distinct from an individual’s private annual security program.
- Estimates: Anonymous-source reports and expert illustrations are not audited personal spending totals.
For example, Fortune reported that Zuckerberg’s broader 2024 security allocation exceeded $27 million, a secondary comparison using a broader scope than direct costs alone. That figure should not be substituted for the $10,433,377 direct-cost figure in Meta’s filing. Fortune, 2025.

What professional protection can cost—and what that estimate means
Fortune quoted LionHeart Security Services CEO Bill Herzog in 2023 as saying round-the-clock security could cost $60 an hour or more; he estimated that two guards could cost more than $1 million annually. This is an expert’s illustrative estimate, not a universal rate card or a verified bill for a named celebrity. That estimate helps explain why security budgets can become substantial, but it cannot be used to calculate an individual’s spending without knowing the scope and arrangements involved. How to judge a reported security figure
Before comparing two reported amounts, check whether they share the same basis:
- Which person and reporting year does the figure cover?
- Is it a company filing, a named expert’s estimate, or anonymous-source reporting?
- Does it count direct costs, an allowance, or both—and are those categories presented separately?
- Are family protection, residences, travel, or vehicles included?
- Are event-related public police costs excluded from private security spending?
Without those details, a headline figure can make unlike budgets look comparable. The available disclosures establish a large, clearly itemized executive-security program; they do not establish ten comparable annual totals for celebrities.
