About $342,000 is a reasonable estimate for Ted Scott’s bonus from Scottie Scheffler’s 2025 PGA Championship win, if the commonly reported 10% winner’s-bonus convention applied. It is not a confirmed payment: the terms of Scott and Scheffler’s arrangement have not been publicly disclosed.
How the estimated $342,000 is calculated
Scheffler’s published winner’s share was $3.42 million. Applying the assumed 10% rate gives $3,420,000 × 0.10 = $342,000. Golf Monthly estimated Scott’s payday at roughly $300,000 to $350,000 using that customary-rate assumption; its $342,000 figure is the arithmetic result, not a disclosed check amount. What is confirmed—and what is not
Scheffler won the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina, finishing at 11 under par with a 273 total, according to the PGA Tour leaderboard. Golf Channel reported a $19 million total purse and a $3.42 million winner’s share. Golf Channel’s 2025 purse and payout report
- Confirmed: Scheffler’s reported tournament payout was $3.42 million.
- Estimated: Scott could receive about $342,000 if his win bonus were 10% of that amount.
- Not publicly established: Scott’s actual rate, any separate salary or retainer, and the amount he received for this specific victory.
How caddie compensation can work
A caddie’s compensation may combine fixed pay—such as a weekly or annual salary or retainer—with a bonus tied to the player’s finish. Golf Monthly’s September 2025 explainer describes 10% for a win and 5% to 7% for other finishes as assumed standard rates, while noting that arrangements can include fixed compensation. These are reported conventions, not universal rules or verified terms of the Scheffler–Scott agreement. Golf Monthly’s caddie-pay explainer, September 25, 2025
