What was Crouch’s reported weekly wage at Stoke?
In January 2013, The Guardian reported that Crouch was earning £45,000 a week at Stoke. FBref’s wage table, which uses Capology data, also lists £45,000 per week for the 2013–14 season, but labels the figure an “Unverified estimation.” Taken together, these sources support describing £45,000 as the best-reported estimate—not as a verified figure from his contract.
Why do reports also mention £80,000 and £50,000 a week?
Those figures refer to the transfer negotiations in 2011, before Crouch joined Stoke. The Independent reported on 11 August 2011 that Crouch’s then-current Tottenham wage was £80,000 a week and that Stoke could offer about £50,000. The £80,000 figure was his reported Tottenham pay; the £50,000 figure was a possible Stoke offer. Neither establishes the wage Stoke ultimately agreed to pay.
How did the estimates change during his Stoke years?

The BBC reported on 1 September 2011 that Stoke signed Crouch from Tottenham in a £12 million deal. That transfer fee does not reveal his weekly salary. The wage sources above report estimates or negotiation figures; they do not provide the terms of his Stoke contract.
