Contemporaneous reports put Elin Nordegren’s settlement from Tiger Woods at about $100 million, but the exact amount was not disclosed in the public divorce documents. The figure is a reported estimate, not a confirmed court fact.

What figures were reported?

News reports gave different amounts, with varying levels of sourcing. None of the cited public divorce documents establishes the precise settlement total.

Reported figure Source and timing What the report supports
About $100 million TMZ, July 2, 2010 TMZ attributed the estimate to a source it said had direct knowledge of the property settlement agreement. It remains a reported figure, not an amount confirmed in the public court documents.
$110 million RadarOnline, 2010, as recounted by the Siemon Law Firm on October 27, 2010 The figure was attributed to a friend, a less direct source chain than TMZ’s account. Neither the cited court record nor the former couple confirmed it.
$750 million A claim circulating in 2010 coverage The Guardian described the varying estimates as speculation, and TMZ disputed the $750 million claim. It should not be treated as the settlement amount.

Why isn’t there a definitive public number?

TMZ’s August 23, 2010 report said the divorce documents did not reveal the settlement details. CBS News likewise distinguished the court settlement from the unknown terms while reporting the approximate $100 million expectation as an attributed estimate. The cited public record therefore does not verify a precise final amount.

The sources also do not establish how any settlement was structured. In particular, they do not support describing the reported total as a verified cash payment.

When was the divorce finalized?

Contemporaneous reports said the divorce was finalized on August 23, 2010, in Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City, Florida. The couple’s joint statement focused on their children’s future well-being and privacy, not on confirming a settlement figure.
