Delta Air Lines reported that it took delivery of 38 aircraft in calendar year 2025. That is the number of aircraft delivered—not proof that Delta’s fleet grew by 38, since aircraft leaving service also affect the net fleet total.
What Delta’s 2025 delivery total includes
Delta’s full-year results, issued in January 2026, report 38 aircraft deliveries for 2025. The company names A321neo, A220-300 and A350-900 aircraft among those deliveries, but does not give a complete type-by-type breakdown in the cited delivery statement. The quarterly figures provide two points of context, not a full delivery schedule: Delta reported nine aircraft deliveries in the March quarter and seven in the December quarter. Deliveries are not the same as net fleet growth
A delivery count measures aircraft received during the year. Net fleet change also depends on removals, such as retirements or other aircraft leaving the fleet. Delta’s reported 38 deliveries do not by themselves establish how much its total fleet grew in 2025; the cited results do not provide a net-change figure alongside the delivery count.

Why future aircraft commitments may differ from deliveries
Aircraft on order or scheduled for later delivery should not be counted as aircraft already added. In its September 2025 Form 10-Q, Delta said delivery timing for aircraft commitments remained uncertain because of supply-chain, manufacturing and regulatory constraints, and that certain deliveries scheduled for 2026 had shifted into later years. How to interpret the related spending figure
Delta reported $4.5 billion in capital expenditures for fiscal 2025 in its Form 10-K. That figure covered spending primarily related to aircraft purchases, fleet modifications, airport construction and technology enhancements; it is not the cost of the 38 aircraft delivered in 2025.
