Airbus said the A330 programme was stabilising at four aircraft per month in its H1 2025 results. That works out to a nominal annualised pace of 48 aircraft, but 48 is a calculation—not a separately reported production total. Airbus delivered 36 A330-family aircraft to customers in 2025, a different measure.
What Airbus’s production rate means in annual terms
In its H1 2025 results, published July 30, 2025, Airbus said the A330 programme was “currently stabilising at a monthly production rate of 4 aircraft.” Multiplying four by 12 gives an annualised pace of 48 aircraft.
That figure should be read as the yearly equivalent of the stated monthly rate, not as confirmation that Airbus produced exactly 48 A330s during a particular calendar year. The statement describes the programme’s rate at the time of that disclosure.
How production rate differs from annual deliveries
Production rate describes the pace at which aircraft are being built; deliveries count aircraft handed over to customers during a calendar year. The two figures can differ because an aircraft may be produced in one period and delivered in another.

Airbus’s 2025 delivery release, published January 12, 2026, reports A330-family deliveries of 36 in 2025, 32 in 2024, and 32 in 2023. Those calendar-year delivery totals are directly comparable to each other; they should not be substituted for the monthly production-rate figure.
What Airbus says about the next rate increase
Airbus said in its H1 2025 results that it targeted a monthly A330 rate of five in 2029. Its FY2025 results, published February 19, 2026, reaffirmed that target. Five per month is a future goal, not the current disclosed rate; if sustained for a full year, it would annualise to 60 aircraft, but Airbus stated the target as a monthly rate.

Orders and backlog are not annual output
Demand figures provide context but do not show how many A330s Airbus builds in a year. Airbus reported 100 gross A330neo orders in 2025 and a total year-end widebody backlog of 1,124 aircraft. That widebody backlog covers more than the A330 programme, so it is not an A330-only order count.
Separately, Airbus’s April 2026 A330 factsheet listed 307 aircraft in the A330 backlog: seven A330 MRTT and 300 A330neo. This is a dated backlog snapshot, not a production or delivery total.
