American Express Mexico estimates that Membership Rewards points transfers to Aeroméxico Rewards take 1 minute to 2 business days. That is a market-specific estimate, not a guarantee for US cardmembers: the Amex US guidance reviewed does not give an Aeroméxico-specific transfer time. If you have a US account, use the estimate shown in your own live Amex transfer flow.
What transfer time should you expect?
American Express Mexico publishes an estimated transfer time of 1 minute to 2 business days for transfers to Aeroméxico Rewards. The partner page does not state when that estimate was published, and Amex presents it as an estimate rather than a guaranteed arrival deadline. See Amex Mexico’s Aeroméxico partner information.
For US accounts, the Amex customer-service guidance explains how to link accounts, transfer points, and check for arrival, but does not specify an Aeroméxico transfer duration. The Mexico estimate should therefore not be treated as a confirmed US timing promise. Check the estimate presented in your account before submitting a transfer. Read Amex US’s transfer guidance.
US and Mexico account guidance compared
| Account guidance | Published timing | Other listed details |
|---|---|---|
| American Express Mexico | Estimated 1 minute to 2 business days; the partner page does not state the estimate’s publication date. | Minimum transfer of 1,000 Membership Rewards points, in increments of 100. Amex also warns that the account names must match. |
| American Express US | No Aeroméxico-specific duration stated in the customer-service guidance reviewed. | General instructions cover linking an airline account, transferring, checking the partner account, and redeeming with the airline. Transfers are final. |
Partner terms and account displays can change. Review the terms and estimate shown for your own account rather than assuming another country’s rules apply.

Before transferring, verify the award and account details
- Confirm award availability and the points required. Check the Aeroméxico redemption you intend to book before moving points. Amex says transfers are final, so transferred points cannot simply be returned to Membership Rewards.
- Check the account names. Amex Mexico warns that the name and surname on the American Express and Aeroméxico Rewards accounts must match; discrepancies may prevent account registration or cause a transfer to be rejected.
- Check the transfer terms shown to you. Amex Mexico lists a 1,000-point minimum and 100-point increments. These are Mexico-page details, so confirm the minimum and increments in your own account.
How to transfer and confirm arrival
- Link your Membership Rewards account to your participating Aeroméxico Rewards account using the transfer flow in your Amex account.
- Review the displayed conversion ratio, minimum, increments, and estimated arrival time, then enter the transfer amount.
- Submit the transfer only after confirming the award is available and the points cost works for your booking.
- Check your Aeroméxico Rewards account to confirm the points arrived, then redeem them with Aeroméxico.
The current American Express global transfer page displays a conversion of 1,000 Membership Rewards points to 1,600 Aeroméxico Rewards points. Confirm the ratio presented in your own account before submitting, since partner details can change. Check Amex’s transfer-partner page.
