Neither figure is an official disclosure, and the £5,000 weekly gap is too large to treat them as interchangeable. Using the lower estimate, a comparison published by The Real EFL placed Sargent below several named forwards, level with Kieffer Moore, and well below Patrick Bamford. These are reported salary estimates—not a verified ranking of the Championship’s best strikers.
What was Josh Sargent’s reported weekly wage at Norwich?
The Real EFL estimated Sargent’s salary at £25,000 a week, or £1.3 million a year, in an article published June 6, 2025. The outlet also said his reported Norwich contract ran through June 2028 and that his pay increased after a 2023 extension. Those details are media reporting; no contract or official club salary disclosure establishes the terms.
A separate Norwich wage list from Interesting Football, published August 3, 2025 for the 2025/26 season, estimated Sargent at £30,000 a week, or £1.56 million a year. The difference is £5,000 per week, or £260,000 over 52 weeks. Because the sources do not explain a common methodology or reconcile the figures, it would be misleading to average them or present either as confirmed pay.
Read together, the reports support a range of estimates, not an exact answer: £25,000 to £30,000 a week. They do not establish whether the figures mean guaranteed base salary, include bonuses, or reflect the amount Sargent ultimately received.

How did the estimates compare with other Championship forwards?
The Real EFL’s June 2025 comparison gave annual estimates for a selected group of forwards. The table below reproduces that source’s figures; it is not a complete league-wide salary survey, and the source does not establish that these players were the division’s best by performance.
| Forward | Estimated annual pay | Comparison with Sargent’s £1.3m estimate |
|---|---|---|
| Patrick Bamford | £3.64 million | £2.34 million more |
| Rhian Brewster | £1.82 million | £520,000 more |
| Callum Robinson | £1.82 million | £520,000 more |
| Lyle Foster | £1.69 million | £390,000 more |
| Nahki Wells | £1.404 million | £104,000 more |
| Josh Sargent | £1.3 million | Reference estimate |
| Kieffer Moore | £1.3 million | Level on the reported estimate |
All player figures in this table are annual estimates attributed to The Real EFL in 2025, not confirmed salary disclosures. The comparison uses that outlet’s £1.3 million Sargent estimate, rather than the higher estimate published by Interesting Football. On that basis, five listed forwards were estimated above Sargent and Moore was level. If the £1.56 million estimate is used instead, the gap narrows, but the available sources do not provide a consistent, verified dataset for recalculating the whole comparison.

Why the figures do not establish who the “best” strikers are
Pay and sporting quality answer different questions. A wage list may show what a publisher estimates a player earns, but it cannot by itself rank players by goals, assists, minutes, or overall contribution. The sources cited here do not provide a complete, consistently measured list of top Championship strikers’ salaries alongside a common performance measure.
There are also differences in what wage figures may include. SalaryLeaks’ page reporting Norwich’s 2025/26 wage bill puts the total at £23.9 million including bonuses and names Mathias Kvistgaarden as the club’s highest-paid forward at £1.4 million a year. That total uses a bonus-inclusive definition and a different season context; it should not be combined with individual estimates from another publisher as if the methods matched.

What current Norwich wage listings can—and cannot—tell us
SalarySport’s Norwich 2026/27 listing estimates the club’s annual wage bill at £17,649,320, or £339,410 a week, for a squad of 80, and names Kenny McLean at £25,000 a week as the highest-paid player. Sargent does not appear in the displayed wage table. This is a database estimate, not an official payroll. His absence from that listing alone does not prove a transfer or establish his current club status, and the page cannot resolve his final Norwich salary.
The Football Association’s 2025/26 Championship disclosure reports agent fees paid by clubs, not individual player wages. It therefore cannot confirm Sargent’s salary. Club-level agent-fee spending and player pay are separate measures.

How to interpret Sargent’s reported pay
- Best-supported answer: media and database estimates published in 2025 placed his weekly wage at £25,000 or £30,000.
- Comparison on a consistent source basis: The Real EFL’s £1.3 million annual estimate put him below Bamford, Brewster, Robinson, Foster, and Wells, and level with Moore.
- What remains unknown: the final amount Norwich paid him, guaranteed salary versus bonuses, and his current club status are not established by these wage listings.
