Hydra mobile staking was announced on February 17, 2023. The feature lets HYDRA holders delegate coins to a selected “superstaker,” which operates network nodes and stakes on their behalf for a fee. Hydra’s announcement said delegated funds stay in the wallet and are not locked, but it does not establish current rewards, fees, minimums, or provider performance. Treat the launch details as historical and check the live interface for terms before deciding whether to delegate.

How Hydra mobile staking works

Hydra Chain’s February 17, 2023 announcement described mobile staking as delegated staking. A holder chooses a superstaker; that provider runs nodes and stakes the delegated HYDRA for a fee. The holder does not need to operate the provider’s nodes personally.

The announcement’s basic flow was to log in, select “Stake,” select “Hydra,” and choose a superstaker. It said all HYDRA in the wallet was delegated by default, and that holders could add or remove HYDRA without creating a new delegation. These are the mechanics Hydra described at launch, not confirmation that every step or setting remains unchanged today. Hydra Chain’s announcement

Are delegated HYDRA coins locked or moved out of the wallet?

Hydra’s 2023 announcement said delegated funds “never leave your wallet” and that “Your coins are never locked.” Those are the project’s statements about its staking feature, not an independent security audit or a guarantee against loss. Before delegating, review what the current interface says about custody, access, and removal of funds.

What can be verified about staking now?

HydraDex’s website presents a Stake interface alongside Swap and Pools. That confirms a staking entry point is presented on the site, but the available information does not establish current reward rates, fees, eligibility rules, or provider performance. HydraDex

The Google Play listing describes Hydra Chain Mobile Wallet as providing access to Hydra DEX, delegated staking, and liquidity mining. Apple’s US App Store listing identifies Hydra Chain Mobile Wallet as an iPhone finance app by Locktrip; its version history shows version 1.1.2 dated July 28, 2025, with split UTXO support. The listing also records a “New Feature – Hydra Super-staking” update in March 2023 and a staking access button in October 2022. App listings and availability can vary by territory and change over time, so these records do not establish availability on every platform or in every country. A September 2022 Hydra ecosystem update said universal token-based staking had been enabled for the mobile wallet and named ChangeX as the first supported asset. That is historical context, not evidence of current supported assets or current HYDRA staking terms. Hydra ecosystem update, September 2022

How to assess a superstaker

Hydra’s announcement advised users to examine provider health and performance metrics and noted that minimum UTXO sizes vary by superstaker. Compare the terms visible in the live interface rather than assuming providers have identical requirements.

What to know before deciding

  • Delegation is not the same as running a Hydra node: under the announced model, the superstaker operates nodes on delegators’ behalf.
  • The provider charges a fee, so any potential reward should be considered alongside that cost and the provider’s current terms.
  • The project’s statements about wallet custody and lockups describe its own design claims; they do not eliminate cryptocurrency, software, or operational risks.
  • Verify current terms in HydraDex or the relevant app-store listing before acting, because available evidence does not establish present yields, fees, minimums, or universal app availability.
