eBay Click & Collect lets eligible UK buyers have an order sent to a selected collection point instead of their home. The twist is that the option covers both staffed parcel shops and lockers; it is not a locker-only service. Amazon also offers staffed Counters as well as automated Lockers, so the useful comparison is how each selected location works—not a claim that every order can use either service.
How eBay Click & Collect works
The option appears only when the item, seller and delivery settings make it available. You may find it through search filters or on an eligible listing, then choose a collection location during eBay checkout. eBay says checkout shows the location’s distance and delivery cost. Its current consumer page lists more than 14,000 locker and parcel-shop locations nationwide, including Evri, InPost and Royal Mail; that is eBay’s own network figure, not an independently audited count. eBay Click & Collect
- Choose an eligible item and select Click & Collect at checkout if it is offered.
- Pick the available shop or locker that suits you and review the displayed delivery cost and distance.
- Pay through eBay. Wait for the email or text saying the parcel is ready, then follow the instructions for that location.
The notification is the practical source of truth for collection: eBay’s pages refer to QR codes, addresses and collection codes, and the exact instructions can depend on the carrier and point. Collect only at the location you selected. eBay says another person can collect for you if they have the collection code; its buyer-help page says photo ID is required at EVRi or InPost collection points. The delivery option usually cannot be changed after ordering. How long will eBay keep a parcel?
There is no single deadline for every eBay collection point. eBay’s current consumer page gives these windows by location type:

How eBay Click & Collect differs from Amazon Lockers
Both services can spare you from waiting at home, but their names do not describe identical networks. eBay Click & Collect can send an eligible order to a staffed parcel shop or a carrier locker. Amazon’s UK guidance distinguishes automated Lockers from staffed Counters.

Neither name guarantees that a pickup option will appear for every order. eBay lists category, price, size and seller delivery settings among factors affecting eligibility. What does eBay Click & Collect cost?
eBay says the charge varies with parcel size and courier; checkout shows the cost for the location you choose. Its current page advertises “Save 20% or more” against Standard Simple Delivery home-delivery labels, but limits that comparison to parcel-sized items up to 10 kg. This is eBay’s own comparison claim, not an independently verified saving across all orders. eBay Click & Collect

Click & Collect is not collection in person
With Click & Collect, the seller sends the parcel to a selected shop or locker. With eBay’s separate “collection in person” option, buyer and seller arrange a direct handover after the online purchase. That does not mean the item is delivered to a pickup location. eBay collection-point help

eBay’s seller guidance says the option may be offered automatically when an item and parcel meet its conditions. Sellers should confirm current requirements and make sure the label is correct before dispatch.

- The eCP identifier must be visible on the label. eBay warns that a missing code can result in rejection and possible disposal without reimbursement.
eBay recommends dispatch within 0–3 days as ideal. Its Seller Centre says that, subject to its requirements, sellers gain protection from “Item not received” cases once the parcel in correct condition reaches an eBay Collection Point and the buyer is notified. It also says eBay covers the return cost if the buyer does not collect within seven days under the stated terms.
