You can earn Microsoft Rewards points for completing selected Xbox games or quests when those activities are offered to your account. That is not a wage: the points have no cash value, and Microsoft or Xbox gift-card redemptions become promotional Microsoft account balance rather than cash you can withdraw. Whether you can earn—and what you can redeem—depends on your region and the offers currently shown in your account.
What “getting paid” means with Xbox
Microsoft Rewards is the broadly accessible Xbox-related option described by Microsoft: eligible users complete selected activities and earn points. Ordinary gameplay does not automatically earn rewards, and there is no universal payout for each game, hour, or month. The current activity and its conditions appear in the Rewards dashboard or Xbox Rewards surfaces. Microsoft’s earning guidance explains that selected games or quests may qualify.

Microsoft says Rewards points have no cash value. Its support page gives an approximate example: it usually takes about 5,000 points to redeem something worth $5. That is not a fixed exchange rate or guaranteed Xbox payout; offers and redemption values can vary. Microsoft Support
How to earn points through Xbox
- Use the right account. Sign in with the Microsoft account associated with Rewards. Microsoft says the program is included with a Microsoft account and does not require a separate Rewards fee. Learn about Microsoft Rewards
- Look for eligible Xbox activities. Open the Rewards dashboard or Xbox Rewards area and check for selected games or quests. Offers are not universal or fixed, so read the displayed requirements and deadline rather than assuming any game will count. How to earn Microsoft Rewards points
- Complete the task with the same account. Follow the activity’s terms, then check the dashboard to confirm the points were credited.

Points, gift-card credit, and cash are different

Regional rules, account conduct, and point expiry
Rewards participation and the available catalog depend on the account’s region. Follow the regional terms and use the account normally: Microsoft warns that automated earning, VPN or location masking, using multiple accounts, or earning in multiple countries on the same day can lead to suspension or invalidated points. Microsoft’s official support pages do not give a universal number of points per Xbox game, quest, or hour played. Since tasks, point totals, and catalog values vary, there is no supported hourly rate or dependable monthly income figure. Use the activity-specific amount shown in your account rather than treating the approximate redemption example as an earnings promise.
