It describes him as the financial partner when he and Edin Rahic bought Bradford City in 2016. But the reports do not name either business or trace Rupp’s wealth, so they do not establish exactly how he made his money or how much he is worth.
What is known about Rupp’s business background?
A November 2017 report by German newspaper BILD said Rupp had owned a company that manufactured helicopter seats and later headed an investment company. The report did not identify either company, give dates or transaction details, or explain the businesses’ earnings. It is evidence of what BILD reported about his career, not a documented account of how much wealth those activities generated.
That distinction matters: the available reporting supports a background in business ownership and investment, but not the claim that the helicopter-seat company alone made Rupp rich. It also does not provide an independently verified net-worth estimate, a valuation of either business, or a record of the capital he invested in Bradford City.
What role did Rupp play in buying Bradford City?
Rupp and Rahic took over Bradford City in 2016. BILD characterized Rupp as bringing the money and Rahic as bringing football knowledge and energy. In that report, Rupp said, “At the beginning, for me, it was simply an investment.” The quote describes his initial view of the club purchase; it does not explain where his investment funds came from.
#1 Best Overall
BILD reported in 2017 that Rupp held 77.5% of the club and Rahic held 22.5%. Those are historical figures reported at the time, not confirmation of present ownership shares.
What do Rahic’s comments tell us—and what don’t they?
In a 2017 interview with Vollspann, Rahic said he and Rupp considered 72 possible English professional clubs. He described assessing infrastructure, supporters, finances, and ownership history before selecting Bradford City. This is Rahic’s account of their joint club search, not evidence about the source or scale of Rupp’s personal wealth.
Rank #2
In a March 2018 account, kicker quoted Rahic saying, “I’d also like to be an oligarch, but I’m not,” as he described a different business model. That remark belongs to Rahic, not Rupp, and does not establish anything about Rupp’s finances.

A company-control listing identifies Stefan Albert Rupp as a person with significant influence or control of Bradford City Football Club Limited, with a notification date in December 2018. The UK Companies House listing concerns corporate control; it does not explain the origin or size of Rupp’s wealth and should not be treated as evidence of current ownership percentages.
