Who are the Reedtz brothers, and what was their money-making background?
Alexander and Christoffer Reedtz are Danish brothers whose football experience included founding and running Football Radar, a football-analysis company. When they took over Notts County, they presented that experience as a way to improve recruitment and player assessment, alongside the expertise already at the club.
In their joint statement reported by The Guardian on 26 July 2019, Alexander Reedtz said they believed Football Radar’s data and knowledge, used with the club’s existing expertise, could help Notts County succeed. The brothers’ public comments describe a business and an analytical approach; they do not establish their personal net worth or how much of their wealth they put into the club.
What happened when they bought Notts County?
The takeover was completed on 26 July 2019, shortly after Notts County had been relegated from League Two. The club faced a potential winding-up order over unpaid tax. The immediate challenge was financial stability, not simply assembling a squad.

The BBC reported on 29 July 2019 that players and staff received overdue wages three days after the takeover; they had last been paid in May. The tax issue remained to be addressed. The reports establish that the new owners moved quickly to meet arrears, but do not give a verified total for the rescue funding or wage payments.
Speaking to the BBC on 27 July, Christoffer Reedtz said, “Transfers and player analysis is very much what we consider to be one of our specialities.” He also indicated that the club’s financial situation had to be sorted out before squad building could take priority. Their stated sequence was therefore stabilization first, recruitment second—not an immediate, publicly quantified transfer splurge.
What does the £10.75 million figure mean?
SCR Guide’s 2026 analysis of Notts County’s accounts and public reporting says Football Radar Ltd waived a £10.75 million loan to the club, effective 31 December 2024. The waiver was recognized as income. It is the clearest large funding-related figure in the available reporting, but it is debt relief: it does not mean £10.75 million was newly transferred to the club at that date or spent on signings.

The distinction matters because several different financial events can support a football club without representing the same thing:
- Cash paid toward urgent liabilities: contemporaneous coverage records overdue wages being paid after the takeover, but does not state a cumulative amount.
- A loan from a related company: Football Radar Ltd lent money to Notts County, according to SCR Guide’s analysis.
- A loan waiver: the reported £10.75 million waiver removed the debt and was recognized as income; it was not a transfer budget.
- Share capital: a Companies House filing records a capital figure, which is not by itself proof of cash paid in or football spending.
How much have the Reedtz brothers put into Notts County?
No independently verified cumulative total for the brothers’ personal funding, and no precise promotion budget, is established by the available sources. The £10.75 million relates to a Football Radar Ltd loan later waived, not a documented personal cash contribution by either brother. Earlier rescue funding and wage payments are reported without a verified overall figure.
Companies House records Christoffer Reedtz as holding more than 50% but less than 75% of the shares and voting rights, and Alexander Damgaard Reedtz as holding more than 25% but no more than 50%. Those are current register bands for people with significant control; they do not disclose how much either brother paid for shares or contributed to club operations.

The same register’s filing history records a statement of capital of £13,120,000 following a share allotment filed for 16 August 2023. That is a share-capital figure, not a confirmed cash injection, debt waiver, or amount spent on the playing squad. Companies House identifies it as a filed company record; its register cautions that it does not verify the accuracy of information companies submit.

The Reedtz brothers’ stated strategy was to use football analysis to inform recruitment, but the available reporting does not measure how much that approach contributed to results. It would be too strong to treat the data strategy as a proven cause of promotion or to infer a specific return on the funding.

A Campo interview published 4 March 2026 describes Notts County as having secured promotion to League Two under the brothers’ ownership. That is a later milestone than their 2019 goal of returning the club to the Football League. The interview also says Notts County and Viborg FF operate separately while exchanging information and experience; the English wording is a translation from the Danish article.

What the public record can—and cannot—show
Companies House lists Notts County’s accounts for the year ended 30 June 2025 as filed on 26 March 2026. SCR Guide’s analysis says the small-company accounts omit turnover and staff-cost disclosures. Those limits make it impossible to derive a complete picture of the club’s operating costs or the owners’ total support from the filings cited here.
The defensible account is narrower: the Reedtz brothers took over during a financial crisis, paid overdue wages after completion, described Football Radar’s analysis as a recruitment advantage, and later benefited the club through the reported waiver of a £10.75 million related-company loan. The sources do not establish a cumulative personal investment total or an exact budget for the promotion push.
