Hostinger’s US-facing VPS page lists promotional prices from $6.49 to $25.99 per month equivalent for two-year terms paid upfront. Its listed two-year renewal rates run from $11.99 to $49.99 per month equivalent. That means the first charge is not necessarily a monthly payment, and the renewal bill can be much larger than the introductory total suggests. The figures below reflect the pricing displayed in August 2026; confirm the term, total charge, taxes, and renewal price at checkout.

See Hostinger’s current VPS plans and pricing.

Hostinger VPS prices and two-year costs

Hostinger lists four KVM plans on its US-facing VPS page. The advertised monthly figures are equivalents for a two-year term; Hostinger says the plan is paid upfront. The totals in the table are calculated by multiplying the displayed monthly equivalent by 24, so they are equivalent totals rather than a promise about the exact checkout amount.

Plan Resources Promotional rate Promotional 24-month equivalent total Two-year renewal rate Renewal 24-month equivalent total Increase in 24-month equivalent cost
KVM 1 1 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 50 GB NVMe, 4 TB bandwidth $6.49/month $155.76 $11.99/month $287.76 $132.00
KVM 2 2 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 100 GB NVMe, 8 TB bandwidth $8.79/month $210.96 $14.99/month $359.76 $148.80
KVM 4 4 vCPU, 16 GB RAM, 200 GB NVMe, 16 TB bandwidth $12.99/month $311.76 $28.99/month $695.76 $384.00
KVM 8 8 vCPU, 32 GB RAM, 400 GB NVMe, 32 TB bandwidth $25.99/month $623.76 $49.99/month $1,199.76 $576.00

Prices and resources are those displayed on Hostinger’s VPS page in August 2026. The monthly equivalents and totals are in US dollars; other countries may see different currencies, taxes, offers, renewal rates, plan availability, or server locations. A vCPU is a virtual allocation, not a guarantee of a dedicated physical core or a particular level of performance.

How much more does renewal cost?

Comparing the displayed promotional and renewal monthly equivalents, the increases are about 84.6% for KVM 1, 70.5% for KVM 2, 123.2% for KVM 4, and 92.3% for KVM 8. These are arithmetic comparisons of the listed rates, not guarantees that the renewal price will remain unchanged in the future.

KVM 4 has the largest percentage increase and a $384 difference between its two-year promotional and renewal equivalent totals. Before choosing a plan, budget for both the initial commitment and the renewal amount, rather than treating the sale rate as the ongoing cost. Hostinger’s listed renewal rates are for a two-year renewal term; another term, region, account offer, or later checkout may show different pricing.

What “per month” and “paid upfront” mean

The displayed monthly rate is an equivalent price derived from the full subscription price, not necessarily the amount charged every month. For the listed two-year offer, expect to pay the plan’s term price upfront, subject to the final checkout total. Check the order summary for the actual charge, billing period, renewal amount, taxes, and any add-ons before paying. Save the order confirmation or invoice so you can compare it with the renewal notice.

  • Taxes and currency: The US-dollar figures may not include taxes applicable to your location. Currency conversion or payment-provider fees may also affect your card statement.
  • Promotional eligibility: A new-customer offer may not be available to an existing customer or after cancellation. Do not assume that cancelling and buying again will restore the introductory rate.
  • Cancellation and refunds: Turning off renewal and qualifying for a refund are different things. Hostinger’s refund policy covers eligible purchases and renewals of KVM VPS plans subject to conditions and exclusions. Check the deadline, excluded charges, treatment of renewals, and whether access ends when a refund is issued.
  • Short projects: A two-year prepaid term ties up more cash than a short experiment. Confirm whether a shorter billing option is available for your account and region instead of assuming the advertised rate applies monthly.

What the plans include—and what to verify

Hostinger advertises KVM virtualization, root access, customizable operating systems, AMD EPYC processors, NVMe storage, worldwide data centers, firewall management, a 1 Gbps network speed, a public API, an AI web terminal, and automatic weekly backups. These are advertised features, not independent performance measurements or a guarantee of sustained throughput. The company also advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee, subject to its refund policy.

The plan table lists vCPU, RAM, storage, and bandwidth allowances; it does not settle every operational or billing detail. Hostinger advertises a free domain for one year and weekly backups, but verify eligibility, domain exclusions, backup scope, and any conditions for your chosen plan and region at checkout. For a quick account-specific resource check, Hostinger says to open the VPS Dashboard and look in the plan-details area; its resource-limits guidance describes where to find vCPU, disk, RAM, and bandwidth information.

Backups are useful, but they are not a complete recovery plan

Weekly backups are not continuous or point-in-time protection. The public plan information does not establish a retention period, separate storage location, restoration SLA, file-level restore options, or whether backups remain available after suspension or cancellation. Hostinger also mentions manual snapshots in its VPS plan information; confirm whether snapshots consume storage and how restoration works. Keep an independent copy of important data and test a restore before relying on a backup for recovery.

Check possible extras before calculating your budget

The final cost depends on what your project needs, not just the VPS line item. Check the order and product terms for:

  • Applicable tax, VAT, currency conversion, or payment fees
  • Domain renewal after any first-year promotion, premium-domain charges, and domain eligibility
  • Paid control panels, commercial software licenses, extra storage, snapshots, or more frequent backup retention
  • Additional IPv4 addresses, CDN or security products, migration, or management services
  • Monitoring and backup tools you choose to run independently
  • The cost of your time maintaining, securing, and troubleshooting the server

The public plan page does not establish the price or availability of every item above. Confirm what is included for your configuration rather than assuming a feature is free or bundled.

Which Hostinger VPS plan fits your workload?

These are planning guidelines, not performance guarantees. Actual capacity depends on software, configuration, traffic, and peak load. Leave headroom for updates, backups, databases, and sudden demand.

KVM 1: small or low-traffic projects

One vCPU and 4 GB RAM may suit a personal project, development environment, small website, lightweight reverse proxy, low-volume API, or basic monitoring service. CPU-heavy builds, traffic spikes, database work, or several memory-intensive containers can exhaust that headroom quickly.

KVM 2: a balanced starting point

Two vCPU and 8 GB RAM are a more flexible starting point for a small-to-medium website, a WordPress site with caching, a few modest Docker services, a small production API, or development and staging. Hostinger gives KVM 2 as an example for medium-scale applications such as n8n. On the displayed promotional prices, it adds $2.30 per month equivalent over KVM 1 while doubling its listed vCPU, RAM, storage, and bandwidth. That makes it a plausible balance for many modest workloads, not a universal best choice.

KVM 4: more concurrency and multiple services

Four vCPU and 16 GB RAM may suit multiple websites, a larger application stack, more containers, database-backed services, or moderate traffic. Its renewal increase is especially important to budget for: the listed two-year equivalent rises from $311.76 on the promotional rate to $695.76 at renewal.

KVM 8: heavier multi-service workloads

Eight vCPU and 32 GB RAM may fit larger databases, build servers, resource-intensive self-hosted applications, or deployments with more concurrent users. At the displayed renewal rate, its 24-month equivalent total is $1,199.76. Confirm that the workload needs this capacity before committing; a large resource allocation is not itself proof of good CPU, disk, or network performance.

VPS administration is part of the cost

Hostinger presents these plans as configurable VPSs with root access and operating-system choice. That gives you control, but it also means you are responsible for much of the server’s day-to-day administration unless you separately arrange management. Customer support is not automatically the same as someone administering your Linux server.

Before buying, ask what support will do for application failures, a misconfigured operating system, security incidents, or recovery. Also confirm whether a control panel or paid management service is included and whether using a software template changes support coverage. Hostinger’s VPS help center covers operational topics, but its existence should not be read as a hands-on management commitment.

Plan to secure the server with SSH keys, restrict root login where practical, configure a firewall and least-privilege users, apply security updates, and monitor disk, memory, CPU, and failed logins. Keep a recovery route in mind before changing firewall or SSH rules, and take a backup before significant upgrades.

How to compare Hostinger with other VPS providers

Do not compare providers using only headline RAM or introductory monthly prices. Compare the amount due today, the renewal term and total, billing flexibility, included resources, backup and restore options, regions, support scope, and the administration you must handle yourself. Current prices for other providers are not established here, so check their official pricing pages rather than relying on an old comparison:

Hostinger’s US VPS page provides US server context. Server location matters for latency and data residency, so confirm available locations for the account and plan you intend to buy.

Is Hostinger VPS worth the cost?

Hostinger can be attractive to a developer or technically confident owner who wants root access, substantial advertised resources, and a lower first-term price, and who can accept the upfront commitment and plan for the renewal bill. The advertised tools and weekly backups may also be useful, provided their scope matches your needs.

It is a weaker fit if you need fully managed administration, contractual uptime or enterprise support, a short hourly experiment, or predictable long-term costs without a large renewal increase. It may also be a poor financial choice if you cannot absorb the renewal total or do not have the time and skills to maintain a Linux server. Decide using both the initial charge and the next-term cost, plus the operational work your project will require.
