Home Depot’s 2025 holiday gift guide promoted a free select power tool with the purchase of a select battery or tool kit from Ryobi, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Makita or Ridgid. That offer is historical, not a current deal: it had expired by October 4, 2026. Home Depot’s guide did not publish the full qualifying-item list or exact promotion dates, so shoppers cannot verify from it which purchase unlocked which free tool.
How the 2025 free-tool offer worked
Home Depot described the promotion as “getting a free select power tool with the purchase of a select battery or tool kit.” In other words, the offer was tied to specific qualifying purchases; the guide does not say that any battery or any kit from a listed brand would qualify. Home Depot’s holiday gift guide is the primary source for the promotion.
The guide does not identify qualifying item numbers, battery capacities, the free-tool choices, customer limits, return rules, online or in-store restrictions, or stock guarantees. Without item-level offer terms or an archived ad, those details cannot be confirmed.
Which brands and kits did Home Depot name?
The guide names five brands in connection with the promotion:

When did the deal end?
The official Home Depot guide does not state the promotion’s start or end date. DealNews reported that Home Depot’s broader early Black Friday sale ended November 29, 2025, but that secondary report does not confirm the dates or terms of every tool promotion. DealNews’ Home Depot Black Friday coverage provides that timing context.

By October 4, 2026, the 2025 holiday promotion was over. Home Depot’s current Tool Savings listings may show other offers, but they are not evidence that the 2025 free-tool deal is still available.

If you are shopping for a kit now, compare the actual current listings rather than assuming the old promotion applies. Voltage identifies a tool platform, and batteries generally need to match that platform to work with its tools. A kit’s product listing should specify what is included; check it rather than assuming the package has batteries or a charger.
