HLTH.network announced on September 29, 2021, that it had chosen Avalanche for its proposed health-data protocol and related products. The announcement described a development plan, not proof of a functioning healthcare network. The former hlth.network domain is now parked and listed for sale; current operations and any Avalanche deployment could not be verified as of August 16, 2026.
What HLTH.network announced
HLTH.network said it was moving its proposed base-layer protocol for global health data and a broader healthcare product ecosystem to Avalanche as part of what it called “Phase II.” The plan included shifting from its earlier blockchain infrastructure to Avalanche. The announcement did not say Avalanche had acquired, invested in, or formally endorsed HLTH.network. TechBullion’s copy of the announcement carries a September 29, 2021 dateline.
The dates can look inconsistent across coverage: Bitcoin Insider lists September 28, 2021, while TechBullion and The Blockopedia published their versions on October 1. These are publication dates; the announcement’s stated date is September 29. Bitcoin Insider and The Blockopedia reproduce or cover the announcement.
What the project proposed to build
The announcement presented HLTH.network as an ambitious healthcare and genomics ecosystem, not just a blockchain application. Its proposed elements included:
#1 Best Overall
- Proven security at scale: Over 9 years and millions of cards issued with no known remote hacks, while military‑grade EAL6+ security keeps your private keys locked inside the chip. Your cryptocurrencies stay strongly protected from online attackers.
- Tap once to manage your entire crypto wallet across 90 blockchains - no USB cables or Bluetooth, no batteries, no setup. Access 14,100+ coins & tokens, DeFi, NFTs, and staking instantly from your phone
- Smart backup: Use your second Tangem Wallet as your Backup keys with end‑to‑end encryption; no more papers, pictures. If one card is lost, the remaining can still restore full access, with an optional seed phrase available for advanced users.
- Engineered to last up to 25 years: Waterproof (IP69K), shockproof and tested for extreme temperatures from −25°C to 50°C. A durable cold wallet with long‑term protection and independently audited security.
- Trusted by 6 million users worldwide - buy, sell, swap, stake, and spend cryptocurrency directly. The secure offline storage wallet designed for how people actually use crypto wallets
- A repository or infrastructure layer for health data and a marketplace for genetic and healthcare data.
- Analytics and artificial-intelligence tools intended for researchers.
- A marketplace for genomic non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
- Precision-medicine commerce involving genetic tests, insurance, analytics licenses, nutraceuticals, and healthcare applications.
- Supporting media, capital, grants, and community initiatives.
These were announced ambitions. The available material does not establish that these products were completed, available to users, or adopted by patients, providers, or researchers. Bitcoin Insider’s republication describes the proposed product scope.
Why HLTH.network said it chose Avalanche
HLTH.network cited Avalanche’s Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility, scalability, lower or more efficient transaction costs, support for decentralized applications, and ability to support custom networks. It said EVM compatibility could reduce friction for applications built around Ethereum technologies. Those were the project’s reasons and claims, not independently verified performance results for HLTH.network.

Avalanche’s current official materials describe AVAX as the network’s native token, used for fees, security, and custom blockchain operations. That general utility does not show that HLTH.network deployed a product, used AVAX, or achieved any particular throughput or cost. See Avalanche’s official overview.
What “launch on Avalanche” does—and does not—tell you
The announcement does not specify the technical form of the planned deployment. It does not establish whether HLTH.network intended to run an EVM-compatible application on Avalanche’s C-Chain, issue or migrate a token, build a dedicated Avalanche network, or use Avalanche alongside a separate chain and off-chain data systems. “Launching on Avalanche” alone does not answer those questions.

Nor does it mean raw medical records or genomic sequences were placed on a public blockchain. For sensitive health information, a system would ordinarily need to address off-chain storage, encryption, access controls, identity, consent, and applicable privacy rules. A ledger might instead record proofs, permissions, references, or transactions. That is a technical and privacy consideration, not a confirmed description of HLTH.network’s architecture.
How its earlier Shivom identity fits
HLTH.network was not presented as an entirely new project in September 2021. Contemporary coverage said genomics project Shivom had rebranded as HLTH.network in August 2021, broadening its stated ambition from a blockchain-powered genomics marketplace toward a tokenized healthcare ecosystem. The Blockopedia’s rebrand report provides that background.

Why a blockchain alone would not solve healthcare-data problems
The announcement framed its project around fragmented provider systems, difficult data exchange across organizations and jurisdictions, poor interoperability, limited control over data monetization, and challenges verifying data as it moves. Those are meaningful problems, but recording activity on a blockchain does not by itself resolve them.
- Consent and deletion: An immutable record can conflict with changing consent or legal deletion obligations. Storing data off-chain may reduce exposure but still requires workable deletion and access-revocation processes.
- Privacy and re-identification: Genomic information can be highly identifying. A marketplace needs clear safeguards for access, permitted uses, and risks of re-identification.
- Data quality and accountability: A ledger can preserve a record of a submission without proving that the original medical data was accurate or complete. Governance must address errors, misuse, and liability.
- Interoperability and law: A blockchain does not create common medical-record standards or make cross-border data use compliant with laws such as HIPAA or GDPR. Those depend on system design, institutional practice, and jurisdiction.
- Incentives: Token-based rewards or markets can add speculation to decisions about sensitive medical data, making consent and commercialization terms especially important.
What can be verified about the project today
As of August 16, 2026, the former HLTH.network domain is parked and listed for sale. That is a warning sign, but it does not, by itself, prove that every project asset, company, or token is defunct. The available evidence does not establish that the announced ecosystem reached production, and no current official product interface, project documentation, roadmap, token contract, or verified Avalanche deployment could be confirmed.

For a reader assessing whether a crypto-health project is live, a press release is not enough. Useful evidence would include:
- A current official website, named legal entity, active team, and recent official communications.
- A contract address and chain identifier that can be checked on an explorer, such as the Avalanche explorer.
- Current technical documentation, an active code repository, and a working product or demonstration.
- Audits and clear privacy, consent, access-control, and data-governance documentation.
- For any token claim, clear tokenomics and independently verifiable contract and market information.
Without those details, readers cannot independently confirm a deployment or assess a token as a live Avalanche asset. The available evidence does not justify calling HLTH.network definitively defunct, either.
Do not confuse HLTH.network with HLTH.com
HLTH.network’s blockchain announcement is separate from the present-day HLTH healthcare-industry events and media organization at HLTH.com. Similar names are not evidence of a shared organization, token, or project.
