Its FY27 constant-currency revenue growth outlook is 2.5%–4.0%. Shares rose on October 13, but reports put the intraday gain at 3.14% or more than 4%—not the 7.5% stated in the original headline.
What did HCLTech report for Q2 FY27?
HCLTech announced its results on October 12, 2026, for the quarter ended September 30. Revenue was ₹35,620 crore, up 11.5% year on year in rupees and 3.0% quarter on quarter. On a constant-currency basis, revenue grew 2.6% year on year. Net income was ₹5,132 crore, a 21.2% increase year on year, and EBIT margin was 18.2%. The growth measures are not interchangeable: rupee revenue growth includes currency effects, while constant-currency growth is intended to show performance excluding those effects. The smaller 2.6% constant-currency increase is therefore the more direct measure of underlying year-on-year revenue growth in the company’s reported figures.
Bookings and advanced AI
New deal wins had total contract value (TCV) of $3,258 million. Advanced AI revenue was $219 million, up 78.0% year on year in constant currency. The bookings figure reflects the total contract value of new wins, not revenue recognized during the quarter, so it should not be read as a near-term revenue measure.
#1 Best Overall
CEO and Managing Director C. Vijayakumar described the quarter as strong, citing $3.3 billion in new bookings, margin expansion and growth across services. He also said advanced AI revenue rose 28.4% quarter on quarter and 78% year on year in constant currency. Those are management’s characterizations of the results, not independent assessments.
Did HCLTech beat Q2 estimates?
It depends on which analyst-consensus dataset is used. Business Standard compared revenue of ₹35,620 crore with Bloomberg analysts’ estimate of ₹35,601 crore, a small beat, and net income of ₹5,132 crore with an estimate of ₹4,856 crore. Reuters reporting carried by Mint cited LSEG average revenue expectations of ₹35,686 crore and characterized revenue as narrowly below consensus. The Bloomberg and LSEG figures are separate estimates, not a single agreed market forecast. Business Standard’s comparison is reported here; the Reuters account is carried by Mint.

Profit estimates also differ across coverage: NDTV Profit cited ₹4,875 crore, compared with Business Standard’s ₹4,856 crore. A fair summary is that revenue was close to expectations, with the direction of the comparison depending on the consensus source, while reported net income exceeded the cited profit estimates.

What is HCLTech’s FY27 guidance?
With its Q2 results, HCLTech set FY27 company revenue growth guidance at 2.5%–4.0% year on year in constant currency. Its services growth range is 3.0%–4.0%, and its EBIT margin guidance is 17.5%–18.5%. The revenue outlook is a full-year forecast, not a quarterly growth promise. The margin range also means the reported 18.2% Q2 EBIT margin sits within the company’s FY27 guided range.

How much did HCLTech shares rise after the results?
The available October 13, 2026, reports do not support a 7.5% gain. NDTV Profit reported an intraday high of ₹1,258.35, up 3.14%; Business Standard described the shares as gaining more than 4%. These are different snapshots during the trading session, and the reports do not establish the precise reference point behind the 7.5% figure. Treat the move as time-sensitive rather than as a settled full-day return. The reported figures appear in October 13 coverage.
A post-results rise indicates how the market was trading at the time of a report; it does not by itself show that investors have reached a lasting judgment on earnings or fair value.

Why are views on growth and valuation mixed?
The operating picture contains both supportive signals and reasons for caution. Large deal bookings and fast growth in advanced AI revenue point to customer demand in those areas. At the same time, constant-currency revenue grew 2.6% year on year, and the full-year company growth outlook is 2.5%–4.0%. Investors weighing the results must judge whether bookings and AI demand can translate into sustained revenue growth, while also considering the margin range.
Market coverage described brokerage views as mixed or cautious, including concern about the shares’ valuation premium. That debate cannot be reduced to a price target or a claim that the stock is definitively cheap or expensive: the reported material does not establish a complete, attributable set of brokerage ratings, target prices or valuation assumptions. A useful comparison of any analyst view should identify its publication date and examine the growth forecast, margin assumptions, treatment of bookings and AI, peer comparison, rating and target price together. Without those assumptions, a headline valuation judgment is incomplete.
