It is a lagging technical signal—not confirmation that the share price will keep falling or a standalone instruction to buy or sell.
What a death cross means
A death cross is the event in which a shorter-term moving average crosses from at or above a longer-term moving average to below it. In this case, the comparison is between the 50-day and 200-day simple moving averages (SMAs). The term describes the crossover session; it is different from the continuing condition in which the 50-day average remains below the 200-day average.
Traders often read the pattern as bearish because the shorter-window average has weakened relative to the longer-window one. But both averages are calculated from past prices. The crossover may therefore appear after a decline is already under way, and it cannot establish what the stock will do next.
What providers reported for JSW Cement
ProfitGuruOnline says its calculation uses NSE end-of-day files from 14 August 2025 through 5 October 2026 and labels the crossover as occurring on the last trading day in that data set. Its reported 5 October readings were a 50-day SMA of ₹124.25 and a 200-day SMA of ₹124.34 (ProfitGuruOnline). Flash Finance’s screener dated 5 October also listed JSW Cement among shares whose 50-day average had crossed below the 200-day average within the prior five sessions, showing the same rounded values (Flash Finance).

Those two secondary providers agree on the rounded readings, but Investing.com’s technical snapshot dated 2 October reported materially different simple-average figures: ₹114.22 for the 50-day average and ₹119.94 for the 200-day average (Investing.com). That snapshot also places the shorter average below the longer one. The available figures do not establish why the providers differ, so their readings should not be combined as if they were one continuous series.
MarketsMojo also reported the crossover (MarketsMojo). These are secondary market-data and news sources; the exchange filing cited below identifies the issuer and listing symbols, but does not confirm the technical event date.

How to interpret the signal
It describes price history, not a forecast
Moving averages smooth earlier share prices over selected periods. A 50-day average reacts more quickly than a 200-day average, but both look backward. A cross can be consistent with weakening momentum; it does not prove the decline will continue, identify its cause, or provide a price target.
It is not an automatic trading instruction
Flash Finance’s methodology notes that a crossover can confirm that a trend has persisted long enough to affect the averages, but it cannot pinpoint the move’s beginning or establish the direction of the next return. Consider the signal alongside your investment horizon, risk tolerance, and other relevant information rather than treating the label “death cross” as a decision rule.

Do not overread the precise date or levels
The reported date and values depend on the provider’s data and calculations. Since the cited snapshots stop at 5 October 2026 or earlier, they do not describe later trading sessions. The evidence does not establish the source of the disagreement between providers’ average levels, so attribution and dates matter whenever figures are quoted.

Quick Recap
Best Value
- High Precision: The bulk density tester for powder provides accurate measurement results. There is a level at the bottom to adjust the level. Attention: Data measurement needs to be conducted in a balanced state
- Measurement Principle: Let the powder fall from a funnel(taper 60°±0.5°,Volume 120ml) at a certain height until the measuring cup(100ml) is filled, and weigh a specific volume of bulk powder, which is the bulk density
- High Quality Stainless Steel: The natural accumulation density tester uses thickened stainless steel material for the volumetric meter, with sufficient wall thickness and hardness, durability, and wear resistance. The measuring frame is made of stainless steel to prevent dust from falling during loading
- Stable Base: The powder stacking density tester adopts a fixed stainless steel base, and the base has triangular adjustable screws that can adjust the height according to needs
- Widely Used: Bulk density meter can measure the density of various powders. For example: metal powder, rare metal powder, alloy powder, soil, dye, abrasive, paint, cement, water sediment powder, etc
