Hammond Park Shopping Centre opened on 9 September 2026, according to developer Aigle Royal Group. The project was reported by PerthNow in May 2025 as an $8.5 million neighbourhood centre—not $85 million. As of the developer’s 21 September 2026 update, Woolworths and BWS were trading, with specialty retailers expected to join in the following months.
What is Hammond Park Shopping Centre, and where is it?
The neighbourhood shopping centre is at the corner of Wattleup Road and Whadjuk Drive in Hammond Park, Western Australia. Aigle Royal Group describes it as approximately 6,000 square metres of retail space, with 370 customer car bays.
Aigle Royal Group says it developed and delivered the project, Hoskins handled construction, and Hames Sharley designed it. The developer announced construction had commenced in May 2025.
Why is the $85 million figure inaccurate?
PerthNow reported on 8 May 2025 that the development was an $8.5 million neighbourhood centre. The developer’s opening announcement does not state a project cost, so the $8.5 million figure should be treated as PerthNow’s reported estimate rather than a cost independently confirmed by the developer. The $85 million figure in the earlier title is not supported by the sources cited here.

Which shops are open?
In its 21 September 2026 opening update, Aigle Royal Group said Woolworths and BWS were trading, while specialty retailers were expected to join over the following months. That is a dated snapshot, not a current directory; tenants may have changed since the announcement.
Woolworths is the centre’s anchor supermarket. A May 2025 construction announcement said the planned store would offer Direct to Boot and home delivery, but those services should be checked with Woolworths for current availability.

- October–November 2023: PerthNow reported that the City of Cockburn advertised the neighbourhood-centre proposal for public comment.
- December 2023: Aigle Royal Group announced it had received planning approval. PerthNow later reported that the Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel had approved the application more than a year before its May 2025 article.
- 9 May 2025: Construction commenced, according to the developer’s announcement published on 19 May.
- 9 September 2026: The centre officially opened, according to Aigle Royal Group’s 21 September announcement.
How it fits into nearby grocery shopping
A Western Australian Planning Commission structure-plan amendment described a neighbourhood centre in the vicinity as needed to serve daily and weekly household shopping needs. In that proposal-era document, The Park Hive IGA was listed at approximately 2.5 kilometres north of the proposed centre, Woolworths Harvest Lakes at approximately 4.9 kilometres northeast, and Cockburn Central supermarkets at approximately 6.7 kilometres north. These are distances reported in the planning document, not current route or travel-time estimates.
