Lotterywest said on 18 August that the ticket was not registered to a membership, so the owner might not yet have known about the win. That was the situation reported then—not confirmation that the prize remains unclaimed today.
What happened in the Gwelup Saturday Lotto draw?
The winning ticket was sold at The Lucky Charm Gwelup and secured a WA Division 1 prize of $1,631,770.49, according to PerthNow’s 18 August 2025 report and Lotterywest’s release that day.
The win came in Saturday Lotto draw #4599, held on 16 August 2025. PerthNow reported the winning numbers as 23, 6, 38, 1, 15 and 18, with supplementary numbers 32 and 24. The Gwelup ticket was one of four Division 1 tickets sharing the $6 million jackpot; the other winning tickets were in New South Wales and Victoria, according to PerthNow’s draw report.
Why the ticket was being searched for
Lotterywest said the Gwelup ticket was not registered to a Lotterywest membership when it announced the win on 18 August 2025. Registration can help Lotterywest contact a Division 1 winner: spokesperson Zoe Wender said registered winners receive a phone call on the next business day after a matching ticket is identified. The statement does not establish how the Gwelup ticket-holder learned of the result or whether they later came forward.

#1 Best Overall
Lotterywest recommended registering tickets both to help keep them safe and to receive a call if they win a Division 1 prize. That recommendation and the membership status refer to the circumstances reported in 2025; neither identifies the ticket-holder or confirms the prize’s eventual outcome.
Is the $1.6 million prize still unclaimed?
The sources available do not verify whether the Gwelup prize was claimed. Lotterywest’s general guidance gives winners 12 months from the draw date to claim. For a draw on 16 August 2025, that ordinary period ended on 16 August 2026. The passing of that date does not establish whether this particular ticket was claimed before the deadline or what happened to the prize afterward.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to check a Lotterywest ticket or claim a prize
Lotterywest says tickets can be checked online, in the Lotterywest App, or at a retailer using a ticket checker. Its prize-collection guidance says Division 1 prizes must be claimed at Lotterywest Head Office during office hours and undergo a 14-day validation period. Follow Lotterywest’s current instructions and contact the operator directly if you hold a potentially winning ticket. These general steps do not establish the Gwelup ticket’s individual claim status.
