An unfamiliar Google*Proxima Beta charge may be connected to a Google Play purchase, but the statement descriptor alone cannot identify the item or show who authorized it. Check Google Play order history for every Google Account that may have been used on the device. If you still do not recognize the purchase, report it through the route that matches the account, payment method, and transaction date.
What does “Google*Proxima Beta” mean?
Google says Android app purchases on Google Play can appear on a statement as GOOGLE*App developer name or GOOGLE*App name. That format makes a Google Play purchase a possibility, but it does not prove what was bought or whether the transaction was authorized. Google recommends checking order history; a charge found there is from Google Play. See Google Play Help: Report charges you don’t recognize.

Proxima Beta Pte. Limited is listed as the developer of the Rust Mobile app on Google Play. That confirms an association between the name and a Play developer listing; it does not establish that a particular charge came from that app, or that you or someone you know made the purchase.
Check whether the charge is a purchase you recognize
- Open Google Play order history for each Google Account that might have been used on the device. Compare the transaction date and amount with the statement, and look at the listed item.
- Ask whether a family member or friend with access to the account or device made the purchase. If you recognize it as a purchase by someone you know, follow Google’s refund guidance for Google Play purchases rather than reporting it as an unknown-account transaction. Refund policies depend on the product, timing, payment method, and location; Google notes that most Play Store apps are made by third-party developers.
- If the charge is not in any relevant order history, or it appears there but you did not make or permit it, use the reporting route below that fits your situation.
Where to report an unrecognized Google Play charge
Google Play Help says: “If you find charges that you don’t recognize, you should report it to Google.” The right route depends on whether the transaction appears in an account you own or control, the payment method, and how long ago it occurred.

| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Unrecognized card, debit-card, or PayPal charge within 120 days, appearing in a Google Account you own or control | Submit a claim using Google’s unauthorized-charge reporting process. The 120-day period is Google’s stated action window, not a promise of reimbursement. |
| Card or PayPal charge older than 120 days | Contact the card issuer or PayPal fraud department immediately, as Google directs. |
| Mobile-carrier billing charge within 60 days | Use Google’s reporting guidance for the carrier-billing transaction. Google states a 60-day window; the carrier may require a correlation or request ID. |
| eWallet payment | Contact the eWallet provider immediately. |
| Charge does not appear in a Google Account you own or control | Google’s claim form says to contact the payment method’s fraud department immediately instead of using the form. |
Google says it typically sends an email update within seven business days after a claim form is completed. That is an estimate for an update, not a guarantee of a refund or a final decision. If more than one payment method was charged, submit a separate claim for each method. Google’s current reporting details are on its charge-reporting help page and Google Payments claim form.

After addressing the charge, you can review purchase verification on Android: Play app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Purchase verification. Available settings vary by region and device. Verification can help prevent purchases made through Google Play billing in the applicable context; it does not investigate or resolve an existing dispute, and it does not cover every kind of payment activity. Details are in Google Play Help’s purchase verification guide.

If your payment provider’s fraud department is the recommended route, contact it promptly and ask what steps it advises for that account. Whether to block or replace a card or take other action depends on the provider’s advice and your circumstances.
