Expired offer: Google’s Pixel 9 holiday promotion was genuine, but it is no longer redeemable as of August 18, 2026. The offer combined a $150 Google Store discount with a separate $100 prepaid Mastercard, for up to $250 in combined promotional value. It ended December 28, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. PT, or earlier if the limited card supply ran out.
What the Pixel 9 promotion actually offered
The promotion reported on December 12, 2024, had two separate benefits:
- $150 off: a Google Store purchase discount applied through a promotional code.
- $100 prepaid Mastercard: delivered later by email for addition to Google Wallet after a qualifying purchase.
“Up to $250 back” described the combined value of those benefits. It did not mean a $250 cash rebate, a $250 refund, or $250 in Google Store credit. The $150 reduced the purchase price at checkout; the $100 was a separate spending card.
Contemporaneous reporting tied the offer to Google’s promotional messaging and fine print.

- Give photos a whole new vision - Reimagine photos in Magic Editor, like adding fall leaves or green grass. Just tap what part you want to change in the photo, and type what you want to see.
Which Pixel phones were included?
The public-facing description named these models:
- Pixel 9
- Pixel 9 Pro
- Pixel 9 Pro XL
The reported fine print appeared to include the Pixel 9 Pro Fold as well, but the available evidence does not establish that eligibility as definitively as it does for the three models above. It is safest to describe Fold eligibility as conditional rather than guaranteed.
How redemption worked
- Use the Google Store promotion: the buyer needed the promotional discount code supplied by email and had to complete an eligible Google Store purchase.
- Meet the account requirement: the offer was tied to a U.S.-registered Google Pay profile, so it should not be treated as an international Google Wallet promotion.
- Buy qualifying products together: the qualifying phones had to be purchased in the same transaction. The terms described a limit of one prepaid card per qualifying phone purchase.
- Wait for the reward email: the reported timing was approximately 10–11 business days after purchase.
- Add the card to Google Wallet: the email provided instructions for adding the $100 prepaid Mastercard to Wallet.
The card was not Google Store credit. It was a prepaid Mastercard intended for merchants that accept debit Mastercard through Google Wallet.
Important restrictions and limitations
| Condition | Reported detail |
|---|---|
| Announcement/report | December 12, 2024 |
| Immediate discount | $150 off through a Google Store promotion |
| Later benefit | $100 prepaid Mastercard |
| Maximum combined value | Up to $250, not a cash payment |
| Card supply | 800 cards, subject to change and availability |
| Deadline | December 28, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. PT, or earlier if cards ran out |
| Account geography | U.S.-registered Google Pay profile |
| Purchase condition | Eligible products purchased at the same time |
| Reward timing | Email approximately 10–11 business days after purchase |
| Use of card | Merchants accepting debit Mastercard through Google Wallet, subject to retailer and tap-to-pay limitations |
Taxes, shipping, trade-in values, financing charges and carrier fees should not be counted as part of the advertised savings unless the original terms specifically said so. The promotion’s 800-card cap also meant that placing an order before the stated deadline did not necessarily guarantee a card if the supply had already been exhausted.

Was the prepaid card equivalent to cash?
No. A prepaid Mastercard in Google Wallet can be useful for spending, but it is not the same as money deposited into a bank account or a guaranteed cash rebate. Acceptance depends on the merchant’s payment systems and policies. Some retailers may not support tap-to-pay, virtual prepaid cards or particular prepaid-card authorizations.

Accordingly, the accurate description is “a $100 prepaid Mastercard” or “a $100 spending card,” not “$100 cash back.”
What if the reward email never arrived?
At the time of the promotion, a buyer would have needed to check the following:
Rank #3
- Gemini AI Integration: Built-in Gemini AI assistant supercharges your productivity and creativity, helping you accomplish tasks faster, generate content, and unlock new possibilities right from your smartphone without needing additional apps or subscriptions
- That the order was placed through the U.S. Google Store.
- That the promotional discount code was used.
- That the order contained an eligible Pixel model.
- That the Google account email address and spam folders had been checked.
- That Google Store support had been contacted with the order number and promotional email.
Because the offer expired in 2024, no current remedy, replacement-card deadline or promise of honoring an old claim can be established. An old email, code or cached deal page should not be assumed to work now.
Is the Google Wallet Pixel 9 deal still available?
No. The promotion ended on December 28, 2024, and was also limited by the supply of 800 prepaid cards. As of August 18, 2026, it is not a current Pixel 9 buying opportunity. Pixel hardware, trade-in terms and Google Store promotions may have changed since then, so readers should check the current Google Store rather than rely on this historical offer.
