Google Opinion Rewards is a free survey app that offers small, occasional rewards—not dependable income. On Android, completed surveys earn Google Play credit; on iOS, Google says rewards are paid to a linked PayPal account. Survey access, amounts and eligibility depend on your platform, country and account.
How Google Opinion Rewards works
Install the app and sign in with a Google Account. When Google has a survey for you, it sends a notification; you can answer only after receiving one, and Google says you have 24 hours to respond. Questions may appear in the app or through Google’s publisher network. Google does not promise a steady schedule.
Google recommends answering honestly. It says payment is not tied to choosing a particular answer: “Google Play credits and PayPal cash payments are of varying amounts and are not linked to answering a certain question in a specific way.” Google’s overview of Opinion Rewards explains how surveys and rewards work.
How much can you earn?
Expect variable, modest rewards rather than wages. Google Play’s listing, updated September 29, 2026, says surveys may arrive “around once a week,” but may be more or less frequent, and offers up to $1.00 in Play credit for a completed survey. That is listing guidance, not a guaranteed rate or monthly total. Google’s help page gives a range of $0.10 to $1.00 per completed survey in its stated dollar currency for PayPal payments; the amount depends on the questions and time required. Reward histories are separate across Android and iOS, and rewards earned on one platform do not transfer to the other, according to Google’s overview.
Where the app is available and who can receive surveys
As listed by Google Opinion Rewards Help on October 8, 2026, Android is available in 39 countries and iOS in five. In supported countries, users must be over 18 to receive surveys. The country associated with your Google Account determines survey eligibility and reward currency; Google Play country is a separate setting.

Availability can change. Check Google’s current country and eligibility information for your location before installing or relying on a particular reward currency.
PayPal payout threshold and expiry
Google’s help page states that, in the dollar-denominated terms it describes, PayPal payments are sent automatically once the balance reaches $2.00. If your Rewards and PayPal email addresses differ, Google says you must accept the first payment within 30 days by associating the Rewards email with PayPal; later payments are automatic. If the balance never reaches the threshold, Google says it expires one year after your last survey. These dollar figures and mechanics should not be assumed to apply unchanged in every country; check the current instructions and currency shown in your app. Google’s payment help.

Changing countries can also affect balances. Google says Android Play credit earned in a previous country remains in its original currency and tied to that country, even if the app home screen shows only the new currency balance. On iOS, an open reward period from the previous country is finalized in the previous currency and sent to linked PayPal once that country’s threshold is met. See Google’s country-change guidance.

It is a Google survey-rewards app distributed through Google Play and Apple’s App Store, with platform-specific rewards described by Google. That makes it a real rewards program, but it does not make it a dependable way to earn income: surveys are intermittent, some are unpaid, and the Android reward is store credit rather than cash.

What happens to your survey data?
Google says survey answers are aggregated and shared with the market researcher who wrote the questions, and responses may be temporarily associated with your Google Account. Apple’s App Store listing says answers are generally aggregated and anonymous unless a survey says otherwise; location-based surveys can provide context. So it would be inaccurate to assume every response is unconditionally anonymous. Google’s overview; Apple App Store listing.
Google Play’s developer-provided data-safety disclosure says the app may collect location, personal information and seven other data types; it reports encryption in transit and says users can request data deletion.
