Goodreturns reported that gold prices in India rebounded on October 9, 2026, after a brief correction the previous day: ₹1,50,710 per 10 grams for 24K, ₹1,38,150 for 22K and ₹1,13,030 for 18K. Those are Goodreturns’ reported rates, not a guaranteed price at every jeweller. Other market reports published different figures for the same date because they use different rate series and quote conditions.
Goodreturns’ reported gold rates on October 9
Goodreturns reported the following per-10-gram rates for October 9, 2026, along with the daily increases shown by that outlet:

These figures answer what Goodreturns reported for that date. They should not be treated as a uniform national retail quote: a jeweller’s final price can differ by location, rate source, taxes and making charges.
Why other October 9 reports show different prices
The figures below come from different publishers and rate series. They are useful for context, but should not be read as competing quotes for an identical product under identical billing conditions.

The benchmark report says the 999-purity IBJA AM fixing rose ₹2,151, or 1.46%, from the previous AM fixing. That change belongs to the IBJA benchmark series reported by 5paisa; it is not the same as Goodreturns’ daily changes.
How to compare a quoted rate
- Check who published the figure and whether it is an indicative rate, a benchmark fixing or a jeweller’s own quote.
- Match the purity: the reports use 24K/999, 22K/916 and 18K/750 labels, which describe different gold content.
- Confirm the unit and quote time. These figures are stated per 10 grams, but the sources do not establish that every rate was captured at the same time.
- Ask whether GST, making charges and any other applicable charges are included. The IBJA AM benchmark cited by 5paisa excludes GST and making charges; ET Markets says its indicative rates exclude GST.
What was behind the reported rebound?
Goodreturns attributed the October 9 rebound to festive-season domestic demand, international spot gold moving above $4,200 per ounce and crude prices falling near $102 per barrel. These are explanations reported by Goodreturns, not independently established proof that any one factor caused the day’s move.

5paisa’s account of the IBJA AM benchmark says the specific daily rise cannot be conclusively attributed to one factor without evidence connecting that factor to the fixing. The available reports therefore support describing possible market influences, not a definitive cause.

What the October 9 rate means if you are buying
A published rate is a reference point, not the amount a buyer necessarily pays at checkout. Before purchasing, ask the jeweller for a current quote for the exact purity and item, and request an itemised final bill showing the gold value, GST and making charges. Compare like with like: a benchmark before charges cannot be directly compared with a finished-jewellery price.
