On Thursday, 8 January 2026, the reported Pakistan market rate for 24-karat gold was Rs466,162 per tola or Rs399,658 per 10 grams. Twenty-four-karat silver was Rs8,125 per tola or Rs6,965 per 10 grams. Both were lower than the previous session.

The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJSA) rates reported during the 8 January session were:

The rates and daily changes were attributed to APGJSA in reports from Aaj English TV, carrying an Associated Press of Pakistan item, and Mettis Global. The 22-karat 10-gram rate was also consistent across date-matched reports.
What changed that day?
Gold fell Rs600 per tola and Rs515 per 10 grams; silver fell Rs236 per tola and Rs203 per 10 grams. The corresponding international prices cited in the association-rate reports were $4,438 per ounce for gold, down $6, and $76.50 per ounce for silver, down $2.36. These are the international values reported with the local rates, not a separate real-time quote.

Why reports for 8 January may show different prices
Some coverage headed for 8 January listed gold at Rs466,762 per tola and silver at Rs8,361 per tola. Those figures were identified elsewhere as the previous session’s rates. Reports published during the 8 January session agreed on the revised figures of Rs466,162 for gold and Rs8,125 for silver per tola. When checking a dated rate, the session and report timing matter: a headline date alone may accompany stale figures. The discrepancy is noted in MM News coverage.

For comparisons, keep both purity and unit in view. The 22-karat quote is for 10 grams, while the headline gold benchmark is 24 karat; those figures are not a like-for-like comparison. Likewise, the international values are in US dollars per ounce and should not be read as Pakistan rupee prices per tola or 10 grams.
