For 5 January 2026, reports give two different sets of gold and silver prices in Pakistan. Pakistan Revenue reported 24-karat gold at Rs464,762 per tola and silver at Rs8,023 per tola; other reports listed Rs455,562 and Rs7,756, respectively. These are historical reported rates, not live prices or a confirmed quote from a specific jeweller.
Reported gold and silver rates for 5 January 2026
Pakistan Revenue’s report dated 5 January lists the following local market reference rates. Mettis Global’s 6 January comparison also gives the higher per-tola figures as the prior-session rates.

These sources attribute local rates to the Sarafa association, but no original association release is available here to verify the final official figure. Pakistan Revenue says local rates are tied to international bullion prices and interbank foreign-exchange rates.
Why reports show different prices
Daily Pakistan and MM News reported a lower set for 5 January: gold at Rs455,562 per tola and silver at Rs7,756 per tola. Business Recorder also carried the lower figures in a report associated with 4 January.

How to use these figures
- Check the date: “today” in reports with this headline means 5 January 2026, not the current date.
- Check the unit: the per-tola and per-10-gram amounts are different weight measures and should not be compared directly.
- Check the gold purity: the higher gold rate is explicitly identified as 24-karat by Pakistan Revenue. The cited lower-rate reports do not establish purity in the information available here.
- Do not treat a reference rate as a checkout price: these reports do not establish a particular city’s retail price, a dealer’s premium, or jewellery-making charges. A jeweller or bullion seller may quote a different amount.
