On Friday, 23 January 2026, Pakistan’s reported benchmark rate was Rs 505,562 per tola for 24-karat gold and Rs 9,903 per tola for 24-karat silver. These are historical prices reported for that date, not live quotes. MM News and The News attributed the rates to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

MM News published the following purity-specific gold rates and silver conversions for the date. The News independently reported the same 24K gold and silver per-tola figures.

The one-rupee difference in the reported silver conversion means the per-10-gram figure should not be treated as more precise than the sources support. For silver, both reports agree on Rs 9,903 per tola.
What changed that day
MM News reported that gold fell by Rs 800 per tola and Rs 686 per 10 grams on 23 January. It also reported an $8 decline in international gold to $4,832 per ounce, and a Rs 30-per-tola fall in local silver. The News likewise reported gold at $4,832 per ounce and described a $20 premium over international rates as a typical local pricing adjustment. That premium is a reported market convention, not a universal rule.

How the reported rates compare with the next day
Dawn reported that on 24 January 2026, 24K gold rose to Rs 514,662 per tola and Rs 441,239 per 10 grams. Silver was reported at Rs 10,275 per tola and Rs 8,809 per 10 grams. Dawn attributed those figures to APSGJA and said they were based on interbank exchange rates. The next-day report is useful context for the date-specific movement, but it does not change the 23 January figures.
Why reports for the same date can differ
TechJuice listed 24K gold at Rs 516,825 per tola and silver at Rs 10,323.20 per tola for 23 January, with international prices of $4,947.82 per ounce for gold and $98.70 per ounce for silver. Its page did not identify a rate publisher or explain its calculation. Those figures materially conflict with the matching, association-attributed rates in MM News and The News; they should not be averaged with them or treated as an equal consensus.

Rates can only be meaningfully compared when the metal, purity, unit, date, and pricing basis match. A per-tola local quote is not directly interchangeable with a per-10-gram figure or an international per-ounce price. The reported benchmark also should not be read as a guaranteed transaction price or as proof that every jeweler in every city offered exactly the same rate; the cited reports do not establish a city-by-city comparison.
