On October 9, 2024, Glassdoor announced a set of community features intended to encourage more interaction: curated career experts called Worklife Pros, plus short-form videos, images and polls. The comparison with LinkedIn is about the wider shift toward richer professional feeds—not evidence that Glassdoor said it copied LinkedIn. The announcement describes what Glassdoor planned at launch; whether every feature remains available, and where, has not been established.
What Glassdoor announced
The October 9, 2024 announcement added content formats and expert contributions to Glassdoor’s existing bowl-based community experience. The bowls themselves were not new: Glassdoor had introduced topic-focused communities for professional conversations in July 2023.
- Worklife Pros: a curated network of experienced professionals, thought leaders and career coaches sharing advice and perspectives.
- Rich-content formats: short-form videos, images and polls, alongside community discussion.
- Where to participate: Glassdoor said users could take part on desktop or in its app, in bowls including Worklife, Interview Tips and Career Pivots.
The company named Rebecca Minkoff, Sho Dewan and Hanna Goefft as examples of Worklife Pros. Its CEO, Christian Sutherland-Wong, said the initiative would give users access to expert content for career decisions. That is the company’s description of its aim, not independent evidence of user outcomes.
How the LinkedIn comparison fits
TechCrunch reported that LinkedIn had begun testing a TikTok-like video feed earlier in 2024, and framed Glassdoor’s move in light of LinkedIn’s product direction. The two announcements point to professional platforms experimenting with more engaging feed formats, but Glassdoor’s release does not say that it copied LinkedIn or that LinkedIn prompted the launch.

Separately, it said ratings, reviews and salary information would remain anonymous. That statement does not establish that every community post or interaction is anonymous.
