Forbes estimated Giorgio Armani’s net worth at $12.1 billion in 2025. Other contemporaneous reporting put Bloomberg’s estimate at more than $9.5 billion and Forbes’ at about $12 billion. These are publisher estimates—not an audited cash balance—and the figures are not directly interchangeable.
What was Giorgio Armani’s net worth?
The most specific reported figure is Forbes’ $12.1 billion estimate for 2025. Forbes Italia reported that estimate on September 11, 2025, placing Armani fourth among Italians and 235th worldwide. Forbes Italia’s report
ANSA reported contemporaneous estimates of more than $9.5 billion from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index and about $12 billion from Forbes. The latter is a rounded figure; Forbes Italia separately reported the more precise $12.1 billion estimate. ANSA’s report
| Publisher or report | Figure | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| Forbes, as reported by Forbes Italia on September 11, 2025 | $12.1 billion | Forbes’ estimate of Armani’s personal net worth |
| Bloomberg Billionaires Index, as reported by ANSA in 2025 | More than $9.5 billion | Bloomberg’s reported estimate of Armani’s personal net worth |
| Forbes, as reported by ANSA in 2025 | About $12 billion | A rounded contemporaneous estimate |
The publishers’ figures differ, and the available reporting does not provide enough methodology to reconcile the gap. Treat them as estimates from different publishers and dates, not as values to average.

Why the estimate is not a cash balance
Net worth is an estimate of assets minus liabilities, not the amount someone could immediately withdraw from a bank. In Armani’s case, the value of his privately held business was central to the calculation. Forbes Italia and ANSA reported that he owned 99.9% of Giorgio Armani SpA before his death; ANSA reported that the Armani Foundation held the other 0.1%. Forbes Italia · ANSA
Reports also refer to real estate and other holdings, but do not provide a complete, audited valuation of every asset and liability. The $12.1 billion estimate should therefore not be read as the value of the company alone, or as a precise, verified total of liquid personal assets.

Company figures are not personal net worth
Several figures associated with Armani describe the business rather than his personal fortune. Keeping the measures separate prevents a company’s sales or estimated value from being mistaken for money belonging to its founder.
| Figure | Measure and period | Why it is different from personal net worth |
|---|---|---|
| €2.3 billion | Giorgio Armani Group revenue, reported by ANSA in 2025 | Revenue is company income over a period, not a personal asset value. ANSA |
| $5.6 billion | Estimated company value reported by Forbes, as cited by Forbes Australia | A business valuation is not itself a net-worth estimate. Forbes Australia |
| $2.5 billion | Fashion house revenue in 2024, as reported by Forbes Australia | Annual sales are distinct from both profit and personal wealth. Forbes Australia |

What happened to Armani’s wealth after his death?
Armani died on September 4, 2025, aged 91. Reporting on his will said company interests were allocated among longtime collaborator Pantaleo Dell’Orco, relatives, and the Armani Foundation, which was assigned a role in the company’s future. Forbes Italia’s November 2025 inheritance coverage reported that five heirs had become billionaires and described Dell’Orco as receiving the largest share. It reported Armani’s fortune at $11.8 billion in that inheritance context, distinct from Forbes Italia’s $12.1 billion estimate around his death. The will also provided for an initial 15% stake sale no earlier than one year and within 18 months after his death, with preference given to LVMH, EssilorLuxottica, L’Oréal, or a comparable fashion group. That timetable describes a planned sale, not a completed transaction. Will and succession report
In an Associated Press report published September 27, 2026, CEO Giuseppe Marsocci would not confirm whether discussions had begun and indicated there was no single designated buyer. He said, “It is not written in stone that there has to be one,” referring to whether one buyer must be selected. The report did not establish that a sale had closed. Associated Press report
