Samsung currently lists the unlocked Fold7 from $1,999.99 before trade-in and advertises up to $1,000 in trade-in savings. The Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra are now Samsung’s newest foldables, so the Fold7 makes sense mainly when checkout shows a substantial clearance discount or unusually strong trade-in value.
What the Fold7 costs now
Samsung’s current Fold7 offers material shows a starting price of $1,999.99 before trade-in. That is the 256GB unlocked model’s listed MSRP. Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP sheet lists the other storage tiers as follows:
| Configuration | MSRP | Price after a hypothetical $300 direct discount |
|---|---|---|
| 256GB | $1,999.99 | $1,699.99 |
| 512GB | $2,119.99 | $1,819.99 |
| 1TB | $2,419.99 | $2,119.99 |
The discounted figures are calculations, not confirmed checkout prices. Do not assume every storage tier qualifies. Check Samsung’s Fold7 offers page and the cart for the exact model, color and promotion.
Is the $300 promotion live?
An older Tom’s Guide article reported a $300 no-trade-in Fold7 deal, but that report was published about 11 months before August 2026 and does not establish a current offer. Samsung separately listed a promotion of up to $500 from July 6 through July 19, 2026; that window has ended.

- A premium foldable smartphone featuring an 8.0" Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display, 6.5" cover display, 200MP main camera, Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, 4,400mAh battery, and a slim 215g design.
Unless Samsung’s cart itemizes a $300 promotional reduction, treat the claim as expired or unverified. A lower total can instead come from a trade-in credit, Samsung Credit, an accessory bundle, a carrier bill credit or financing terms—none of which is the same as $300 off the phone.
How to verify the price before paying
- Open Samsung’s Fold7 purchase page or offers page.
- Select the precise storage tier and color.
- Choose No trade-in first. Record the pre-tax subtotal.
- Look for a separately named promotional discount. Do not count estimated trade-in value or Samsung Credit as a direct reduction.
- If considering the accessory promotion, add the qualifying Buds4 or Buds4 Pro product and check whether the item is free, discounted or simply bundled.
- Run the cart again with your trade-in selected. Note the device condition, carrier, ZIP code, financing choice and delivery option, since any can change eligibility.
- Read the expiration, stacking and return terms, then save the final total and timestamp.
If the cart shows only $1,999.99 plus trade-in savings, the $300 no-trade-in deal is not available for that configuration.

Trade-in savings are separate from a $300 discount
Samsung advertises up to $1,000 in Fold7 trade-in savings. “Up to” is a maximum, not a guaranteed credit; the amount depends on the device, promotion and condition. Samsung’s trade-in rules generally require that the phone power on, hold a charge and have a functioning display. Cracks, liquid damage, blacklisting, software or account locks, and leased devices can reduce or eliminate the credit.
Back up your data, remove account locks, factory-reset the phone, photograph its condition and retain shipping and inspection records. Samsung also says the trade-in program generally cannot be combined with other Samsung, carrier or retailer promotions unless the specific terms permit it; see the product terms.

Accessory bundles and Samsung Credit
Samsung’s indexed cell-phone offers page lists a qualifying Fold7 and Galaxy Buds4/Buds4 Pro promotion running March 23 through September 27, 2026, while supplies last. Verify the exact Buds model, qualification path and effective value at checkout. A free accessory is not equivalent to $300 in cash savings, particularly if you would not otherwise buy earbuds.
Promotion terms can require the accessory to be returned or paid for in full if the qualifying phone is canceled or returned. Samsung Credit likewise may be restricted to eligible products or services rather than reducing the phone’s purchase price. Keep those distinctions in your comparison.

The Fold7 is no longer Samsung’s latest foldable
Samsung’s current mobile lineup identifies the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra as the 2026 generation. Their pre-order window ran July 22 through August 7, 2026, and the launch promotion included $200 Samsung Credit without a trade-in; that launch offer has ended.
The Fold7 still offers Samsung’s foldable format, a 6.5-inch cover screen and One UI 8. The trade-off is purchasing an older generation with a shorter remaining support runway and potentially less advanced hardware than the Fold8 family. Compare the actual checkout difference, not just each model’s MSRP.

Who should buy the Fold7?
Buy when the discount is real
- The cart shows at least $300 off the phone itself, without requiring an unsuitable plan or trade-in.
- Your eligible trade-in produces a materially lower price than the Fold8.
- You want an unlocked Samsung foldable and do not need the newest generation.
- Useful Samsung Credit or accessories improve the value for purchases you already planned to make.
Choose the Fold8 instead
- The price gap is small.
- You prioritize the newest processor, cameras, durability changes or longest support period.
- You want Samsung’s current flagship rather than clearance inventory.
- The Fold7 “savings” requires a costly unlimited plan, new line or multi-year bill-credit commitment.
Walk away from the advertised deal
- The $300 appears only in an old article, cached search result or promotional headline.
- The amount is Samsung Credit, a carrier credit or a trade-in estimate presented as cash savings.
- The offer applies only to an unwanted storage tier, color or refurbished/open-box unit.
- Limited stock, return restrictions or non-stacking terms erase the apparent advantage.
Last verified status
- Verification date: August 16, 2026.
- Current Fold7 listing: from $1,999.99 before trade-in.
- $300 direct discount: not independently confirmed; purchase only if the live cart itemizes it.
- Earlier promotions: reported $300 deal (older coverage) and Samsung’s up-to-$500 promotion, July 6–19, 2026.
The Bottom Line
The Fold7 is worth considering only when Samsung’s live cart shows a genuine direct discount or a trade-in value that clearly beats the Fold8’s price difference. As of August 16, 2026, the $300 no-trade-in claim is unverified, and the Fold8 generation—not the Fold7—is Samsung’s latest foldable.
