Freedom Mobile’s reported iPhone 16e buy-one-get-one promotion is no longer current: the later version was reported to end on March 31, 2025. It bundled two phones with two qualifying lines; “free” referred to credits against the second phone, not a no-strings second device. The terms and monthly figures changed between reports, so they should be read as dated snapshots rather than combined into one offer.
What Freedom Mobile’s reported BOGO offer included
The promotion had at least two reported versions. MobileSyrup’s February 21, 2025 account described two iPhone 16e phones, two $59-per-month plans and a combined monthly spend of $145 for both phones and plans. That version involved an in-store purchase and a two-year obligation, with a return or $299 buyout at the end of the term. MobileSyrup’s February report is the source for those figures and conditions.
A later report by iPhone in Canada on March 21, 2025 described a different formulation: buy an iPhone 16e 128GB and get a second for $0 per month through TradeUp and MyTab financing, with both devices activated together in store. Freedom would apply $600 in credits to the second phone as $25 per month for 24 months. Each line required a $59-per-month plan after Digital Discount; the reported offer was available in store while supplies lasted and was scheduled to end March 31, 2025. These are contemporaneous third-party accounts, not current official promotion terms. Freedom’s iPhone 16e product page provides product information but does not establish the historical BOGO conditions.

What “free” meant—and what to check in the total cost
In the March account, the second phone’s monthly cost was offset by $600 in credits spread across 24 months. That is conditional financing within a two-line carrier bundle, not an unconditional phone giveaway. The February account’s $145 combined monthly figure belongs to the offer version reported that month; it should not be treated as a current quote or automatically applied to the later version.
For any comparable carrier promotion, calculate the cost for both lines and both devices across the full term, not just the advertised payment for the second phone. Before agreeing, check:

- The monthly plan charge for each line and whether a discount such as Digital Discount is required.
- How much credit applies to the second device, how long it runs, and whether eligibility depends on keeping both lines or plans unchanged.
- Any upfront, connection, or other charges; the reports cited here do not establish a current fee schedule.
- Whether the financed phones must be returned at the end of the term, what condition is required, and the buyout amount if you keep them.
- Whether the offer is available through your preferred channel and whether stock remains.
The available reports do not state what happens to promotional credits after a line cancellation or plan change. Get that condition in the live written offer before signing rather than assuming the remaining credits will continue.
TradeUp and the end-of-term phone
Freedom’s TradeUp support page explains the general arrangement: TradeUp can lower a phone’s monthly cost in exchange for agreeing to return an eligible device at the end of the 24-month term. That general description does not by itself establish every condition of the historical BOGO offer. Review the specific financing agreement for the return deadline, device-condition requirements, and any amount payable if you keep the phone.

Is the deal still available?
No current availability is established by the cited reports. The later reported version had a March 31, 2025 end date, and the earlier account describes a February offer rather than a live promotion. Freedom’s current catalogue lists the iPhone 16e, but a catalogue listing is not proof that the BOGO credits or qualifying plans remain available. Check Freedom’s live device page and written offer terms before relying on a promotion or monthly price.

Apple’s February 19, 2025 launch announcement identifies the iPhone 16e as part of the iPhone 16 family and lists a 6.1-inch display, A18 chip and 48MP Fusion camera. Freedom’s archived product promotion page listed up to 26 hours of video playback. These are manufacturer or carrier product claims, not independent test results.
