Freedom Mobile currently lists a 10GB bring-your-own-phone plan for $35 per month, with Digital Discount included. But the available sources do not verify the specific recent price increase implied by the headline. The $35 figure is an advertised price with conditions, and Freedom’s Price Freeze Promise applies to an existing plan’s rate—not every charge on a bill.
What is Freedom Mobile’s cheapest plan?
Freedom Mobile’s Back to School 2026 page lists these bring-your-own-phone (BYOD) prices, with Digital Discount included:
| Plan data | Listed monthly price |
|---|---|
| 10GB | $35 |
| 70GB | $40 |
| 125GB | $45 |
These are prices on Freedom’s offer page, not a guarantee that every customer will qualify for the same bill. PlanHub’s Ontario BYOD listing, last updated October 6, 2026, also showed the 10GB plan at $35 per month as its cheapest listed Freedom offer and cautioned that prices fluctuate. That is a dated Ontario snapshot, not a complete national price list. Freedom Mobile’s Back to School 2026 offer; PlanHub’s Ontario Freedom Mobile listing.
Why the advertised price may differ from your bill
Freedom’s Digital Discount requires an eligible plan, enrollment in Auto Pay, an active and valid Auto Pay method, and redemption of the promo code. Other offers may also have their own eligibility rules, restrictions, or limited durations. Check the offer terms and your checkout total before signing up. Freedom Mobile’s Digital Discount terms.

Did Freedom Mobile raise its plan prices?
The sources available here do not establish a specific recent increase. They do not identify an affected plan, its previous and new base prices, or an effective date. The current price listings show what was advertised, but do not prove that a price went up.
To substantiate a price change, a dated notice or archived offer would need to show the plan name, old and new prices, when the change took effect, the relevant region, and whether it changed the plan’s base rate or an expiring discount. Without those details, the headline’s claim cannot be confirmed.

Can Freedom increase the price of your existing plan?
Freedom says its Price Freeze Promise took effect April 3, 2023. It covers the wireless rate-plan price before discounts and credits while a customer keeps that plan. If the customer changes plans, the new plan’s price is also frozen while they remain on it. The promise concerns a subscriber’s retained plan; it does not mean newly advertised entry-level offers will always keep the same price. Freedom Mobile’s Price Freeze Promise.
Charges the promise does not freeze
The guarantee excludes taxes and levies, device financing such as MyTab or TradeUp, passes, add-ons, pay-per-use charges, and other additional charges and fees. Those items may affect the bill even when the wireless rate-plan price is unchanged. Freedom Mobile’s Price Freeze Promise.

How to compare Freedom’s advertised prices
Before comparing the $35 offer with another plan or your current bill, check that you are comparing the same kind of price and service:
- Base rate versus discount: Find out whether the quoted figure includes Digital Discount or another credit, and what conditions apply.
- Offer eligibility: Confirm whether the offer is BYOD, prepaid, limited to new lines, or restricted to a particular region.
- Data terms: Check full-speed data limits and what happens after you use the included data.
- Included services: Compare roaming, add-ons, and other features rather than relying on the data amount alone.
- Promotion duration: Check whether a discount is ongoing or limited to a stated period.
The cited price snapshot establishes the listed low-end BYOD price, but it does not establish all plan features or a historical series of Freedom’s prices.
