Lime is the only provider in the available sources with a documented 2026 Election Day-season offer. Its campaign page lists a free 30-minute ride using code HEADCOUNT from October 24 through November 3, 2026. HeadCount describes two free 30-minute rides and additional ways to redeem. Because the descriptions differ, check the current official campaign flow and confirm the offer in the Lime app before riding. Uber and Hertz deals covered below were for 2024 and have expired.
What free or discounted rides are available in 2026?
Lime to the Polls
Lime’s campaign page says riders can enter code HEADCOUNT in the Lime app for a free 30-minute ride to and from a polling location between October 24 and November 3, 2026. Lime makes the offer conditional on a Lime bike or scooter being available where the rider is.
HeadCount’s September 15, 2026 announcement describes two free 30-minute rides during the same dates, accessed through the joint campaign website or by texting LIME to 57568. These descriptions do not match exactly on the ride count or redemption route. Follow the live terms on Lime or HeadCount’s campaign pages, then verify the offer appears in the app before starting a ride. Do not assume the offer is available in every location.
HeadCount also says its volunteer team leaders can receive free 30-minute rides from July 1 through December 31, 2026. That is a volunteer offer, not a general voter promotion.

How to check whether an offer will cover your trip
Before choosing a ride, rental, or transit option, confirm the details that determine whether it will work for your journey:
- Dates and time: Check the start and end dates and any time-of-day limits.
- Service area: Confirm your neighborhood is included and that a vehicle or transit service is actually available.
- Trip requirements: Look for whether the trip must end at a polling place, whether both legs qualify, or whether a rental must meet a minimum duration.
- Value and limits: Check free minutes, discount caps, eligible rides, and whether there is a limited supply.
- Redemption and exclusions: Follow the current app or campaign instructions; check excluded vehicle types, ride categories, fees, and other restrictions.
- Return-trip plan: Check vehicle availability near the polling place or arrange a separate way back. A discount on one leg may not cover both.
For public transportation, check your local transit authority directly. The 2024 provider roundup described agency-specific free-ride offers, not one nationwide fare program.

Use your state or local election office’s current information to confirm your polling place and voting hours. A map or ride app can help plan the route, but should not replace official election information: polling locations and hours can change.
