What the Take Back Bag includes
For Days sells the bag as the entry point to its textile take-back service. The product page currently identifies the program as powered by Trashie and lists the large bag at $20 in the accessed 2026 listing. The page also displays subscription purchase controls and a 5% subscription discount; those are changeable offers, so check the live product page before buying.
The listed large bag measures 24 inches by 24 inches and is rated for up to 15 pounds. Treat that as the stated capacity, not a guarantee that every mix of textiles will fit neatly: bulky coats, shoes, or dense fabrics may fill the bag before reaching the weight limit. If your planned clean-out is larger, estimate the number of bags you would need before checkout.
For Days says the bag is made with 50% post-consumer recycled content and that the bags themselves are fully recyclable. Those are company product-material claims, not an independent assessment of the bag’s lifecycle or environmental impact.

Read the broad product-page wording alongside that preparation instruction: do not send wet or dirty contents.
- Listed as accepted: clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, and linens, including swimwear, underwear, and socks.
- Not accepted in this bag: fabric scraps. For Days points customers to a separate scraps bag.
- Preparation: contents should be clean and dry under the terms.
How the return process works
- Buy the bag and register it. Follow the registration instructions associated with your Take Back Bag.
- Use the shipping instructions from the QR code. The product page warns that the bag’s QR code and the shipping QR code are different; scan the one designated for shipping instructions.
- Choose a return route. The page describes Happy Returns drop-off as the easiest option, or a printable UPS mailing label as an alternative. The terms say return shipping is covered.
- Pack and send clean, dry eligible textiles. Follow the current instructions shown after registration, since the company reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the program.
The listing shows a delivery estimate of 5–14 business days for the bag and says tracking information is not provided for the Take Back Bag. That estimate concerns delivery of the bag, not a published deadline for returning it. The current official materials reviewed here do not state a return-by date; check the live terms and shipping instructions for any updated timing requirements rather than relying on anecdotes or older posts.

These are service terms, not a cash refund or a guaranteed dollar value. Redemption destinations, caps, and the amount awarded can change; confirm the current rules before purchasing if the reward affects your decision.
Is the service legitimate?
The product listing and terms establish that For Days offers a paid bag with a stated mail-back process and reward. That answers whether there is an official service to purchase, but it does not establish independent verification of the downstream handling of the textiles. A published analysis, “For Days and Trashie’s Take Back Bag Program,” reports that its authors could not find clear information explaining exactly how the company processes textiles for recycling. That is a transparency gap, not proof that any particular returned items are discarded or landfilled.

For Days says that all Take Back Bags sent back to the company are recycled. The available public material cited here does not provide detailed sorting, reuse, recycling, or disposal destinations for the textiles customers put inside. If your main reason for using a take-back service is a specific environmental outcome, this missing detail is important: the public claim alone does not let a customer verify what happens to each textile category after collection.

The official product page displayed a 4.9-out-of-5 average from 1,614 reviews in a search snapshot accessed in 2026. This is a dynamic retailer-hosted rating, not an independent survey, and it may change. The page also contains customer photos and videos, along with individual comments praising ease of use or capacity and at least one note that printing a shipping label was inconvenient. These accounts can offer practical impressions, but they are not a controlled test.
