FlexiRoam has signed an onboarding document with one of Australia’s four major banks for a Mastercard program offering roaming data to eligible premium rewards cardholders. The bank is not identified in the announcement coverage reviewed by Small Caps. The benefit is 3GB of data once per calendar year, valid for 15 days across more than 150 countries and regions; the bank funds it, while FlexiRoam receives an annual fee for each eligible card.
Which bank is involved?
The bank’s identity has not been disclosed in the announcement details reported by Small Caps on 5 October 2026. The material identifies it only as one of Australia’s four major banks, so naming a particular bank would be speculation.
The disclosed step is an onboarding document for participation in a Mastercard program. The announcement does not establish a minimum term or minimum number of eligible cards.

How does the deal generate revenue for FlexiRoam?
The bank funds the cardholder benefit, and FlexiRoam earns an annual fee for each card eligible for it. That makes the disclosed revenue mechanism based on eligible cards rather than the amount of data each cardholder uses. Further data purchases are a separate potential source of sales; the reported annual-fee estimate does not include them.
Small Caps reports a FlexiRoam planning case of approximately A$200,000 in annual fee revenue, based on projected eligible cards and the applicable annual fee. This is not a guaranteed amount, a contracted minimum or formal revenue guidance: actual fees depend on how many cards qualify and may differ materially. The estimate covers the benefit as currently offered, not additional card portfolios or benefits, which would each require separate onboarding.

How large is FlexiRoam’s Mastercard channel?
FlexiRoam reported that, at 30 June 2026, complementary data roaming was offered through 418 banks and 1,270 Mastercard programs in 78 countries. These are company-reported channel figures cited by Small Caps, not an independent measure of the wider market.
FlexiRoam executive director Jefrey Ong described the arrangement this way: “It shows our model is working as designed—the bank funds the benefit, Mastercard is the channel and FlexiRoam earns a fee on every eligible card,” he said. That is the company’s description of its model, not independent confirmation of the deal’s eventual revenue.

What the announcement does—and does not—say about issuer economics
The coverage situates the deal amid lower interchange caps and the possibility that issuers will look for card benefits that customers value and that are efficient to fund. FlexiRoam sees that environment as a potential tailwind. The reported material does not say that interchange changes caused this bank to adopt the benefit.
For cardholders, the immediate relevance is the stated annual data allowance and discounted follow-on plans.
