Fizz and Metrolinx announced a multi-year partnership on February 2, 2026, making Fizz the presenting partner of GO Transit’s Express Train Service. For eligible GO riders who are new to Fizz, the current promotion offers a one-time $25 discount and 80 GB of bonus data when they use code TRAIN to activate their first plan. The bonus is promotional data, not an ongoing monthly allowance.
What the Fizz and Metrolinx partnership includes
The partnership announcement described Fizz-branded displays at multiple GO stations and a Fizz-themed train, alongside the company’s role as presenting partner of GO Transit’s Express Train Service. It is a branding and transit-advertising partnership; the announcement does not say it changes GO fares, transit operations or onboard internet access. What the current promotion offers
The GO Transit and Fizz promotion pages describe a one-time $25 discount and 80 GB of bonus data for eligible new Fizz members. The GO page says the data must be used within 90 days. The offer is available in Ontario within Fizz’s subscription areas, rather than to every Ontario resident regardless of service availability. The 80 GB is promotional data, not a recurring monthly plan allowance. Fizz describes it as four 20 GB perks. Its launch announcement said perks had to be activated within 90 days and that each 20 GB perk lasted 30 days after activation; it also said gifted or promotional data did not roll over. Because those mechanics appeared in the launch announcement, confirm the current full terms before relying on those specific activation and expiry details. Why older coverage may say $40 off
Fizz’s February 2 launch announcement advertised $40 off plus 80 GB. The later GO Transit promotion page, published August 11, 2026, and Fizz’s current offer page describe $25 off plus 80 GB instead. Use the later published terms when assessing the offer, and check the live pages before activating because promotions can change.
How to redeem the offer
- Check that Fizz service is available at your address in Ontario and review the current plan options and terms.
- Choose an eSIM or physical SIM option offered by Fizz, then activate your first Fizz plan.
- Enter TRAIN during SIM activation, as directed by Fizz’s offer page, and verify that the promotion is applied before completing activation.
What to check before signing up
A one-time discount and a temporary data bonus do not by themselves establish whether a plan is a good fit. Compare the recurring monthly price after the discount ends, the plan’s regular data allowance, and how much of the bonus data you can use before it expires. Also check service availability and device compatibility in your area. Fizz calls the promotion limited-time and says it will communicate the end date ahead of time on its offer page. The GO Transit page says the promotion may be modified or discontinued at Fizz’s discretion. The cited pages establish no fixed end date, so confirm availability and conditions at redemption.
