At a verified U.S. price of $199.95, the Fitbit Sense 2 can still be a sensible buy for people who want long battery life and Fitbit’s health-tracking features—not a full app-packed smartwatch. But don’t assume that price is live: Google’s documented $199.95 promotion ended June 28, 2026, and its product pages show a regular price of $249.95. Check the retailer’s live checkout price before deciding. The Sense 2’s 2022-era hardware and Google Health subscription changes also matter to its long-term value.
Is the Fitbit Sense 2 really $199 right now?
There is evidence of a $199.95 U.S. sale, but not that it is currently available everywhere. Google’s offers page lists that price against a $249.95 regular price and dates the promotion from June 8 through June 28, 2026. Google’s standard product and specification pages show $249.95. Treat $199.95 as a deal to verify, not a guaranteed current price.

Fitbit Sense 2 Advanced Health and Fitness Smartwatch with Tools to Manage Stress and Sleep, ECG... | $172.10 | Buy on Amazon |
At $199.95, the discount is $50 from Google’s currently listed regular price. The Sense 2 originally launched at $299.95 in 2022, but that older launch price is not the right baseline for judging today’s deal. A lower listing could also be retailer-specific, open-box, or refurbished, so confirm the item’s condition, color, shipping, tax, return window, and warranty on the seller’s page.

What makes the Sense 2 appealing at this price?
Battery life for sleep and everyday wear
Google rates the Sense 2 for more than six days of battery life, a useful advantage if you want to wear a watch overnight for sleep tracking without charging every day. That is a manufacturer estimate, not a guarantee: always-on display, GPS, SpO₂ tracking, cEDA and frequent workouts can shorten runtime. Google also estimates that 12 minutes of charging can provide a day of use; actual results depend on settings and use.
A health-focused sensor mix
The watch combines heart-rate tracking, sleep and activity features with an ECG-compatible sensor, a cEDA sensor for tracking body responses associated with stress, a skin-temperature sensor and SpO₂ sensors. These features make it more health-oriented than a basic step counter. Their availability can vary by country and other conditions, and sensor readings should not be treated as a diagnosis.
Google describes its ECG feature as a 30-second heart-rhythm reading that can help assess possible atrial fibrillation where supported. It is not a diagnosis, is not available in every country and is not intended for people under 22. If you have symptoms or a health concern, seek medical advice rather than relying on a wearable reading.
GPS and useful everyday functions
The Sense 2 has built-in GPS and GLONASS for outdoor activity tracking. Google rates continuous GPS use for up to five hours, which can suit casual runs and walks but may be restrictive for longer outings. Google Maps, Google Wallet, smartphone notifications and Bluetooth calling add practical smartwatch functions when supported by your phone, account, region and payment provider.
Works with recent iPhones and Android phones
Google lists compatibility with phones running Android 11 or later and iOS 16.4 or later. Setup and syncing require the Google Health app, a Google account, Bluetooth and internet access. Compatibility does not mean every feature works identically on both platforms or in every country.

What do you get without Google Health Premium?
Core features include activity, heart-rate and workout tracking, GPS, basic sleep and exercise data, and supported functions such as ECG, notifications, Google Maps and Google Wallet. Deeper sleep breakdowns and additional sleep metrics, Daily Readiness Score, guided workouts and mindfulness content, personalized coaching, and adaptive Google Health Coach features are among the subscription-dependent or enhanced offerings.
Fitbit Premium was renamed Google Health Premium on May 19, 2026, as Google moved from the Fitbit app to the Google Health app. Google’s pages do not consistently state the same trial length, so confirm the offer at checkout rather than counting on a particular number of free months. Google’s setup guide says a new or returning member must activate an included membership within 60 days, provide a valid payment method and cancel before the trial ends to avoid a recurring charge. A Google Store configuration page lists $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year after the trial; check the current terms when activating.
If basic tracking is enough, you may not need Premium. If detailed sleep insights, readiness scores or coaching are central to why you are buying, include the ongoing subscription cost in your decision. What are the main drawbacks?
It is an older smartwatch, not a new Google flagship
The Sense 2 is 2022 hardware. Google’s wearable strategy now places more emphasis on Pixel Watch, but that does not establish that the Sense 2 is discontinued or that support is ending. It does mean buyers should be cautious about expecting years of major new features or a long hardware roadmap.
Google lists security updates for the Sense 2 through at least February 2028. The date may be extended under Google’s policy, which bases the minimum on two years after the device was last sold through Fitbit.com or the Google Store. Security updates are not a promise of new features, health algorithms or ongoing product development. Source: Google’s Fitbit security-update policy.
Its smartwatch capabilities are limited
The Sense 2 does not offer an LTE version or onboard music storage for independent listening, and its app ecosystem is more limited than Apple Watch or Wear OS. Its five-hour continuous-GPS rating also makes it a weaker fit for long endurance sessions than a dedicated sports watch. Google’s specifications say Wi-Fi is deactivated and cannot be turned on.

The app and subscription experience has changed
Since May 19, 2026, the Fitbit app has become the Google Health app, with renamed services and reorganized navigation. Existing Fitbit users may need to adjust to the new layout and subscription terminology. Feature availability also varies by region, phone, account, language and service.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Sense 2, Charge 6 or Pixel Watch?
| Choose | Best fit | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Fitbit Sense 2 | A watch-shaped Fitbit device with a larger display, ECG and cEDA sensors, long rated battery life, and iPhone or Android compatibility. | Older hardware, limited smartwatch apps and some enhanced insights behind Google Health Premium. |
| Fitbit Charge 6 | Someone who wants a smaller, tracker-style Fitbit and does not need the Sense 2’s watch form factor. | Compare the live checkout prices; a current Charge 6 price is not established here. |
| Google Pixel Watch | Someone who wants Google’s newer smartwatch direction, a fuller app experience and more smartwatch functions. | Choose it for smartwatch capability rather than the Sense 2’s multiday battery emphasis or iPhone support. |
Both Sense 2 and Charge 6 are listed in Google’s U.S. device availability information. The Charge 6 may be the more economical choice if you mainly want Fitbit tracking, but verify its price rather than assuming it costs less. Pixel Watch is a more natural fit if apps and newer Google smartwatch functions matter more than charging less often. Quick Recap
Who should buy the Sense 2—and who should skip it?
Buy it if
- You want sleep and general wellness tracking in a watch form factor, and battery life matters more to you than a large app library.
- You value its health sensors and accept that readings are wellness tools, not medical diagnoses.
- You use a compatible iPhone or Android phone and want a wearable that supports both platforms.
- You are comfortable with the Google Health app and can get the benefits you want from its free tier or justify Premium’s recurring cost.
- You mostly walk, run casually or work out recreationally, rather than needing advanced endurance training features.
Skip it if
- You need long GPS sessions, advanced training metrics, navigation or a dedicated endurance watch.
- You want LTE, offline music, extensive third-party apps or a newer full-featured smartwatch.
- You are an iPhone-first buyer who wants deep Apple integration, or an Android buyer who prioritizes Google’s newest smartwatch hardware.
- You will not pay for a subscription but expect detailed sleep analysis, readiness scores or coaching.
- You expect major future feature development or need a device that provides medical diagnosis.
How to validate a $199 offer before buying
- Open the retailer’s live product page and confirm the price at checkout; a search result or expired promotion is not proof the deal is active.
- Check that the watch is new, not refurbished or open-box, and confirm which colors are included.
- Review the final cost before tax and shipping, plus the return window and warranty.
- Read the included Google Health Premium trial terms, activation deadline and renewal price before entering payment details.
- Confirm your phone meets the Android 11 or iOS 16.4 requirement and that the health features you want are available in your country.
- Compare the final Sense 2 price with the Charge 6 and current Pixel Watch options, based on the features you will actually use.
