Fisker’s liquidation plan was confirmed on October 16, 2024, and it set out different routes for seeking payment for qualifying recall-repair labor depending on when the work took place. It did not make every recall or repair free: the court order allowed authorized dealers to charge market rates under a specified funding condition.
How payment for qualifying recall labor was meant to work
The plan became effective on October 17, 2024, according to a later quarterly operating report filed by the Fisker Liquidating Trust. The October 2024 account of the plan described two payment routes:

These routes concern labor for qualifying recall repairs; they are not a blanket promise that every repair cost, part, or service would be covered. The reports do not establish whether a particular repair qualifies or whether an individual claim can still be filed or processed.
Why the court order did not guarantee free repairs
The confirmation order addressed a funding contingency. If the liquidating trustee determined that funds were insufficient for specified remediation of Stop-Sale Holds, authorized Fisker dealers could charge vehicle owners market rates for recall-related services and other ordinary repairs. The order states that “authorized Fisker dealers are permitted to perform recall-related services and other ordinary repairs and shall be permitted to charge existing vehicle owners market rates for such repair services” (U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, October 16, 2024 confirmation order, paragraph 107).

That provision is why the headline’s repair help should not be read as a universal free-repair guarantee or a continuation of ordinary warranty coverage.
Who handled claims, and what an owner can check
The court approved Matthew Dundon as liquidating trustee and established the liquidating trust on the plan’s effective date. The trustee—not a general promise from Fisker to pay every owner—was the claims channel described in the plan coverage.

- Check the vehicle’s recall status by VIN. Use NHTSA’s current recall resources to see campaigns associated with the vehicle. A campaign-level report cannot establish the status of an individual VIN.
- Ask an authorized service provider about the specific repair. Confirm whether the center is participating, whether the repair is covered by the relevant campaign, and what labor or other charges may apply before authorizing work.
- For work already completed, check the trust’s current instructions. Confirm eligibility, documentation requirements, and any filing deadline with the appropriate trust channel. The available reports do not establish current claim deadlines or the status of a specific claim.
What NHTSA’s recall figures do—and do not—show
NHTSA’s quarterly report for recall 24V405 lists a population of 6,864 vehicles and 6,800 remedied in its 2025 second-quarter entry. The report, last updated August 1, 2025, identifies the subject as “Incorrectly Displayed Warning Lights/FMVSS 135,101,” names Fisker Group Inc. as the manufacturer, and lists June 11, 2024, as the start of owner notification.
Those numbers describe one campaign’s reported figures for that period. They are not a current tally of all open Fisker Ocean recalls and do not determine whether a particular vehicle has had a recall completed.

Cloud services were a separate owner-support issue
In its October 16, 2024 report, TechCrunch said American Lease agreed to pay an additional $2.5 million over five years to take control of Ocean cloud services, and that the Fisker Owners Association would receive access to relevant data and support services. That was a description of the deal at the time; it does not verify which services remain operational now.
