Figure AI was reported to be discussing a $1.5 billion funding round at a $39.5 billion valuation in February 2025, but those terms were not final. In September, the company announced a different, completed disclosure: more than $1 billion in committed Series C capital at a $39 billion post-money valuation.
Did Figure AI raise $1.5 billion?
Not on the terms described in the February report. Bloomberg reported on February 14, 2025, that Figure AI was in talks to raise $1.5 billion at a $39.5 billion valuation. The report cited people familiar with the private discussions, and Bloomberg said the terms were unfinished and could change. Figure declined to comment. Bloomberg News reported the proposed terms.
On September 16, 2025, Figure announced that its Series C had exceeded $1 billion in committed capital at a $39 billion post-money valuation. That later company announcement is the clearest public account of the round’s stated outcome; it does not establish that the earlier proposed $1.5 billion transaction closed as described. Figure’s Series C announcement.
| Disclosure | Amount | Valuation | Status and source |
|---|---|---|---|
| February 14, 2025 | $1.5 billion | $39.5 billion | Reported as proposed terms in fundraising talks; Bloomberg said terms were not finalized and could change. |
| September 16, 2025 | More than $1 billion in committed capital | $39 billion post-money | Announced by Figure as its Series C financing. |
The figures are separate snapshots, not two interchangeable descriptions of a single finalized transaction. The public disclosures do not provide enough detail to reconstruct precisely how the private discussions evolved into the later announcement.

What does “15x its last valuation” mean?
The “15x” comparison refers to valuation, not a return, revenue multiple, or measure of robot production. TechCrunch compared the proposed $39.5 billion valuation with Figure’s prior $2.6 billion post-money valuation for its $675 million Series B. Dividing $39.5 billion by $2.6 billion gives roughly 15.2, rounded to 15x in the headline. TechCrunch’s February 2025 report gives that prior-round comparison.
A valuation increase between funding rounds does not by itself show that a company’s revenue, operating performance, or delivered robot volume rose by the same factor. The later announced $39 billion post-money valuation was also $500 million below the $39.5 billion figure in the earlier report, but the sources do not establish that this difference represents a negotiated reduction from identical final terms.

Who was expected to invest, and who did Figure name later?
In February, Bloomberg reported that Align Ventures and Parkway Venture Capital were expected to lead the proposed financing. Figure’s September announcement named Parkway as the Series C lead and listed Align among its significant investors. The company also named Brookfield Asset Management, NVIDIA, Macquarie Capital, Intel Capital, Tamarack Global, LG Technology Ventures, Salesforce, T-Mobile Ventures, and Qualcomm Ventures as significant investors.
The later investor list reflects Figure’s own announcement of the Series C. It does not independently verify every detail of the earlier private discussions or establish individual investment amounts.

What Figure said the funding would support
Figure describes its goal as bringing general-purpose humanoid robots into real-world environments. In announcing the Series C, it said the capital would support household and commercial deployments, production manufacturing at BotQ, GPU infrastructure for training and simulation, and data collection to improve its Helix AI system. These are company-stated priorities, not confirmation that all planned deployments or production targets have been achieved.
Separately, TechCrunch reported in February 2025 that Figure had sold robots to BMW and that founder Brett Adcock had posted that a second commercial customer had signed. Those are contemporaneous reports about commercial activity; Figure’s September funding announcement did not update those customer details. The available sources establish a commercial robotics effort, but do not provide a consumer purchase path for Figure robots.
