Fido’s Black Frideals was a real Canadian Black Friday promotion reported on November 17, 2025. It advertised up to $780 off the Google Pixel 10 series over 24 months, but the saving was delivered through financing and monthly bill credits on select plans—not as an upfront $780 discount.
Status: This is a historical offer. Fido’s currently indexed promotions show a different Pixel 10 deal, so shoppers should verify the live terms before ordering.

What Fido’s Black Frideals offered
Fido’s seasonal Black Frideals campaign included an advertised maximum saving of up to $780 on the Google Pixel 10 series. The offer was reported by MobileSyrup on November 17, 2025.

The Pixel promotion was tied to Fido’s Payment Program, a 24-month financing arrangement, and required an eligible wireless plan. Approval for financing was also required. The available coverage does not establish that every Pixel 10 model, storage tier, or plan received the maximum discount.

What “up to $780 off” actually meant
Dividing $780 across 24 months gives a mathematical equivalent of $32.50 per month. That does not prove Fido applied a flat $32.50 credit every month, nor does it mean every customer received the full amount.
In practice, the calculation involved several separate figures:
- the phone’s full retail price;
- the monthly financing payment;
- any promotional bill credit;
- taxes and setup charges;
- any required down payment or credit-related condition; and
- the wireless plan required to keep receiving the credits.
Fido Payment Program terms describe 0% financing on approved credit, with the financed balance based on the device price less any down payment. Which Pixel 10 models qualified?
The campaign was described as covering the Pixel 10 series, but the accessible announcement does not provide a complete model-by-model discount table. That means it would be misleading to say that the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold all received the same $780 saving.
Before signing up, shoppers needed to confirm the exact model, storage capacity, monthly device payment, bill credit, plan requirement, and total promotional value. Fido’s Pixel 10 product page and phone catalogue are the appropriate places to check current product availability, but they do not by themselves recreate the historical Black Frideals terms.

These offers were separate campaign components. In particular, the $50 plan was a BYOD offer, meaning customers brought their own phone. It should not be treated as the plan automatically paired with the financed Pixel promotion.

The 24-month cost a shopper should calculate
The phone’s advertised monthly price is only one part of the commitment. A better estimate is:

- Write down Fido’s full device price and monthly payment.
- Confirm the exact credit amount and how long it lasts.
- Add the qualifying plan’s monthly price for 24 months.
- Add taxes, activation or setup fees, and any down payment.
- Subtract only trade-in value that is explicitly confirmed and eligible.
- Compare the result with an unlocked phone plus the cost of a cheaper BYOD plan.
This matters because a $0 or heavily discounted device payment does not make the overall service free. A more expensive required plan can absorb much of the apparent handset saving.

Early cancellation was the most important practical risk. Under the applicable financing structure, ending the financing agreement or cancelling the mobile plan can make the outstanding device balance due, while promotional credits stop.

Changing to a plan that is not eligible may also end the credits. Before accepting the offer, confirm:

- whether changing plans removes the monthly credit;
- whether an early upgrade requires payment of the remaining balance;
- whether transferring service affects the financing agreement;
- whether a return or trade-in has condition requirements; and
- whether any protection, trade-in, or device-return condition applies.
Do not assume that the maximum advertised saving remains available if you leave Fido before month 24.
Who was most likely to benefit?
The deal could make sense if you:
- already wanted Fido service;
- expected to remain with Fido for the full 24 months;
- preferred monthly payments over paying for the phone upfront;
- qualified for the maximum credit on the specific Pixel model you wanted; and
- found that Fido’s required plan was reasonably priced compared with alternatives.
Buying unlocked could be better if you:
- wanted to change carriers freely;
- could obtain a cheaper BYOD plan;
- planned to resell or replace the phone before 24 months;
- had access to a strong retail discount or trade-in offer; or
- did not want a credit agreement or the risk of a large final device bill.
Canadian carriers generally sell phones unlocked, but the historical Black Frideals material does not establish the deal-specific wording on unlocking, returns, or device condition. Confirm those details directly with Fido before ordering.
Is the Black Frideals deal still available?
There is no current confirmation that the November 2025 Black Frideals promotion remains active. Fido’s currently indexed promotions page shows a later Pixel 10 offer: $15 per month after bill credits for 24 months on a Plus plan, with a listed full price of $1,287, taxes extra, and a possible $40 device setup charge. It also advertises up to $360 in trade-in credit on an eligible new-phone activation.
That later pricing must not be retroactively attributed to Black Frideals. It also should not be assumed to stack with the historical $780 maximum unless Fido’s live terms expressly say so.
Before accepting any similar Fido offer
- Save a screenshot or copy of the offer’s full terms.
- Confirm the exact Pixel model and storage tier.
- Ask for the device price before and after credits.
- Confirm the required plan and whether existing customers qualify.
- Check activation, setup, tax, autopay, and down-payment requirements.
- Calculate the full 24-month cost, including service.
- Ask for the balance payable if you cancel or upgrade early.
- Check current Fido promotions rather than relying on a historical headline.
The bottom line is that Black Frideals could have been attractive for a customer already committed to Fido for two years, but “up to $780 off” was not a universal cash discount. The meaningful comparison was the total cost of the financed phone and required plan versus an unlocked Pixel paired with a cheaper BYOD service.
