A one-off Ferrari Daytona SP3 Tailor Made, serial number 599+1, sold for $26,000,000 at RM Sotheby’s Monterey 2025 auction. RM Sotheby’s reported the result as a record for the most valuable new car sold at auction. The sale took place in Monterey; the car was then set to appear at Casa Ferrari during Sunday’s Pebble Beach Concours.
How much did the Ferrari Daytona SP3 599+1 sell for?
The car brought $26,000,000 at RM Sotheby’s Monterey 2025 sale. RM Sotheby’s post-sale release, dated 18 August 2025, described it as the most valuable new car ever sold at auction. That is the auction house’s characterization of the record, not an independent valuation of the Daytona SP3 model generally. RM Sotheby’s sale release
The title’s Pebble Beach reference needs a distinction: the auction was in Monterey, and RM Sotheby’s said the car would be transported after Saturday’s sale for display at Casa Ferrari during Sunday’s Pebble Beach Concours. The display was not the auction venue.
Why was this Daytona SP3 numbered 599+1?
Ferrari originally allocated 599 Daytona SP3s. This car was created as an additional one-off beyond that allocation, with 599+1 used as its serial designation. RM Sotheby’s described it as a capstone example developed and built through Ferrari’s Tailor Made customization program. RM Sotheby’s feature on the car

RM Sotheby’s described the Daytona SP3 as the third car in Ferrari’s Icona Series, introduced in 2021. Its lot description lists a naturally aspirated, mid-mounted 6.5-liter V-12 producing 829 horsepower, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a 0–100 km/h time of 2.85 seconds. Those are the auction house’s stated specifications and performance figure, not independent test results. RM Sotheby’s lot description
Where were the $26 million proceeds going?
RM Sotheby’s said all proceeds would benefit The Ferrari Foundation for future educational initiatives. The auction house identifies the Foundation as a 501(c)(3) public charity. The buyer’s premium was waived for this lot, according to the sale record. RM Sotheby’s auction lot record

What were the buyer’s terms and included items?
The car was built to US specifications. Under the lot terms, buyers outside the United States were responsible for export, import and federalization. A US-resident winning bidder had to arrange delivery to an authorized US Ferrari dealership to complete documentation and title work.
The one-off lot also included a carbon clutch inspired by Ferrari silhouettes, an official window sticker, owner’s manual and warranty book, tool kit, battery conditioner and cover kit. These were items included with this specific auction car, not evidence that the one-off accessories or documents are separately available.

Does this set the value of other Ferrari Daytona SP3s?
No. The $26 million result reflects a unique 599+1 car sold in a charity context, with a bespoke Tailor Made specification and waived buyer’s premium. RM Sotheby’s records establish the result and the lot’s terms, but do not provide a comparable sample of ordinary Daytona SP3 sales or an appraisal basis for typical market value. It should not be treated as a price benchmark for the original 599 allocated cars.
