Fastik describes a range of custom flexible packaging, including laminations, wicketed bags, roll stock and stand-up pouches, as well as tea envelopes and tags. Its tea offer includes conventional and compostable constructions, but the company pages reviewed do not establish a compostability certification, disposal conditions or a verified environmental benefit for a specific package. Buyers should treat sustainability as a specification to verify, not an assumed product attribute.
What packaging does Fastik offer?
Fastik presents itself as a North American printing and packaging supplier. Its flexible-packaging page describes custom formats rather than one standardized package:
- Laminations: constructions intended to provide higher barriers and help improve shelf life.
- Wicketed bags: bags for bread and produce.
- Roll stock: laminated or monoweb constructions.
- Stand-up pouches: available with matte film, paper or gloss exteriors, with or without a zipper.
Fastik says it can laminate material up to 43 inches wide and print up to eight colors on material up to 43 inches wide. These are the company’s stated capabilities, not independently audited specifications. See Fastik’s flexible packaging information.
What does Fastik offer for tea packaging?
Fastik says it makes single-serve tea envelopes and tags for equipment including IMA C-24, C-21 and C-23, Fuso, and T2 Prima. It describes several envelope constructions, including conventional and compostable options. The company also says it is committed to developing new tea-envelope structures to offer more options to the North American tea industry. Its tea page does not specify the compostable constructions’ material recipe, certification, suitable composting location or disposal conditions. See Fastik’s tea packaging information.

What does Fastik’s sustainability positioning establish?
Fastik’s social-responsibility page says the company aims to tread lightly through its business practices and create and promote products that lower customers’ environmental impact. That is a stated corporate objective; it does not demonstrate that every Fastik package, or any particular construction, has a lower impact than an alternative. See Fastik’s social-responsibility statement.
The company pages reviewed do not provide product-specific lifecycle assessments, quantified comparisons, material disclosures, recyclability instructions or sustainability certifications. The compostable label alone is therefore not enough to determine where a tea envelope can be composted or how it should be disposed of.

What should a buyer verify before choosing a package?
Fastik’s pages describe formats and some equipment compatibility, but do not publish a side-by-side comparison of package options. Ask for documentation on the specific construction under consideration, including:
- Product protection: the barrier properties and shelf-life performance relevant to the product.
- Production fit: compatibility with the packaging line and, for tea, the applicable machine model.
- Construction: material composition and whether the option is a laminate, monoweb or another structure.
- Format and print: required bag, roll-stock or pouch format; dimensions; print needs; and whether a zipper or particular exterior is needed.
- End of life: the applicable compostability or other environmental certification, the conditions and facilities required, and clear disposal instructions.
For a sustainability claim, request product-specific evidence and confirm that the evidence matches the exact package construction and the disposal route available to the intended customer. Fastik’s general environmental objective is not a substitute for that documentation.
