The reports said Ryan O’Neal was not named. But calling Lott her “actual partner” goes beyond what the reporting establishes: Lott claimed he had been her secret lover, a claim not independently confirmed by the cited accounts.
What reports said Farrah Fawcett’s will left
ABC News reported in August 2009 on a copy of Fawcett’s will, which it said RadarOnline had obtained. The amounts in that coverage were:

| Reported beneficiary | Reported bequest |
|---|---|
| Redmond O’Neal, her son | $4.5 million |
| Gregory Walls, her nephew | $500,000 |
| James Fawcett, her father | $500,000 |
| Gregory Lawrence Lott | $100,000 |
These are reported bequests from coverage of a published will copy, not a complete inventory or accounting of Fawcett’s estate. ABC News’ account described the listed amounts; RadarOnline’s published copy was described as last updated August 9, 2007.
Was Ryan O’Neal left out?
The will copy described by ABC News did not name Ryan O’Neal. The Los Angeles Times later reported that trust documents obtained by RadarOnline likewise showed no bequest to him, and said Fawcett and O’Neal never married despite his proposal. These accounts support the narrower conclusion that the documents they described did not name him; they do not establish what happened to every asset or transfer outside those documents. The Los Angeles Times report also mentioned money for the University of Texas without giving an amount in the account.

What O’Neal said about the estate
In a statement reported by UPI on November 18, 2009, O’Neal said he and Fawcett had discussed her financial arrangements and agreed their son would be the primary beneficiary. He added, “These were Farrah’s wishes and I am perfectly happy with them.” UPI reported his response; it was his account of their discussions, not an independent estate accounting.
Was Greg Lott Fawcett’s “actual partner”?
The cited reporting does not establish that Lott was Fawcett’s partner at the time of her death. A 2009 Inside Edition release said Lott claimed he had been Fawcett’s secret lover for the last eleven years of her life. That is a claim attributed to Lott, not independent confirmation. The release identified him as her college boyfriend; ABC reported the bequest to him.

The contemporaneous accounts describe selected provisions in documents and statements from people involved. They do not establish Fawcett’s full estate value, all non-probate transfers, a final probate accounting, or the truth of private relationship claims. The careful summary is that reports said her will did not name O’Neal, listed a $100,000 bequest to Lott, and attributed the secret-lover description to Lott himself.
