Fanatical’s New Year Mystery Box was reported in January 2026 as a $1 purchase for one random Steam game key, with a chance to win a 1TB Steam Deck OLED. The console was a prize, not something every buyer received, and the available reporting does not establish the odds or whether the New Year offer is still open.
What the $1 New Year Mystery Box included
PC Guide reported on January 12, 2026 that Fanatical’s New Year’s Edition Mystery Box offered one random Steam key for $1, drawn from a pool of more than 500 games. The key was the purchase; the Steam Deck OLED was a separate chance-based prize. PC Guide’s January 2026 report describes the offer, but does not establish a guaranteed console for purchasers.
Because the game key was random, buyers could not know which game they would receive from the information reported. The number of games in the pool does not reveal the chance of winning the hardware prize.
Was the Steam Deck OLED guaranteed?
No. The January report described a chance to win a 1TB Steam Deck OLED, not a console included with each $1 key. No verified odds for winning the New Year prize are established in the sources cited here, so a probability cannot responsibly be calculated or promised. Buying additional keys should not be presented as a guaranteed way to win.

Is the New Year offer still available?
The New Year edition was reported in January 2026, but its precise closing date and current availability are not established. Fanatical’s official pages show later, distinct promotions; they do not confirm that the January offer remains active.
In June 2026, Fanatical described a separate Mystery Box campaign with up to 25 random Steam keys from a catalogue of over 500 titles, five Golden Boxes, and a chance to win a 1TB OLED Steam Deck during week one. Those details belong to that later campaign, not the New Year edition. Fanatical’s June 2026 announcement covers that promotion.

As of October 8, 2026, Fanatical’s current offer is a different Mystery Crate promotion. Its page describes random Steam keys, Golden Crates, weekly drops, and a grand-prize draw for a Steam Machine. The official terms give October 14, 2026 as the promotion’s end date. These are Mystery Crate rules and prizes, not terms for the January New Year Mystery Box.
