Fable Security emerged from stealth in July 2025 with $31 million in combined seed and Series A financing and an AI-native platform designed to reduce risky employee behavior. It connects signals from identity, cloud, access, endpoint, email and productivity systems to risk scores, then delivers targeted interventions such as briefings, nudges, chats and workflows.

What Fable Security launched

Fable describes its product as a continuous human-risk-management platform rather than a once-a-year awareness course. The company’s stated loop is to observe behavior, assess risk at several levels, intervene in the work channel where the behavior occurs and measure what happens next.

“The system learns from the actions people take and assesses risk anew—a first-of-its-kind, closed-loop engine for continuously driving down human risk for enterprises.”

Fable Security launch announcement, July 2025

How the closed loop works

  1. Ingest signals. Fable says it can draw from identity, cloud, access, endpoint, email and productivity systems.
  2. Score risk. The platform evaluates individuals, behavioral cohorts and the organization as a whole, rather than assigning one permanent risk label to every employee.
  3. Intervene in context. Its examples include AI-generated video briefings, nudges, chat interactions and automated workflows delivered through channels such as Slack and email.
  4. Reassess behavior. New actions feed the next risk assessment, allowing the treatment to change as behavior changes.

Product principles and named use cases

Fable lists five principles for the platform: data-driven, highly targeted, just-in-time, outcomes-based and enterprise-grade. Its named use cases include:

  • strengthening phishing resilience;
  • building security-aware teams;
  • shaping behavior directly;
  • responding to emerging threats;
  • enabling sanctioned use of artificial-intelligence tools; and
  • reporting human risk to leadership.

“Companies spend billions on cybersecurity, but human risk is still the biggest unsolved problem that every security team wants to fix,”

Nicole Jiang, Fable co-founder and CEO, as quoted in the company’s 2025 press release

How much Fable raised and who founded it

The $31 million figure is the combined total announced when Fable came out of stealth. It is not a valuation and does not represent one financing round.

Financing Amount Lead investor Timing disclosed
Seed $6.5 million Greylock Partners 2025
Series A $24.5 million Redpoint Ventures 2025
Combined financing $31 million Greylock and Redpoint rounds Announced at the July 2025 launch

Nicole Jiang is co-founder and chief executive officer, and Dr. Sanny Liao is co-founder and chief product officer. SecurityWeek reported that the company was founded in 2024 and that both executives were members of Abnormal AI’s early founding team.

What a human-risk platform does differently

Human risk in this context means the security exposure created by actions people take: clicking a malicious link, mishandling access, using an unsanctioned AI service or failing to report a suspicious message. A human-risk platform attempts to connect those actions with technical and business context, then change behavior while the risk is still relevant.

Fable compared with scheduled security-awareness training

The comparison below uses a typical scheduled awareness program as the baseline. Individual products vary, so it is a model comparison rather than a claim about every training vendor.

Comparison point Scheduled awareness program Fable’s stated model
Signal breadth Often centered on course completion and campaign responses Identity, email, cloud, access, endpoint and productivity signals
Timing Scheduled courses or periodic campaigns Just-in-time treatment when behavior or threat context changes
Targeting Broadcast content or broad audience groups Role-, cohort- and behavior-specific interventions
Feedback loop Completion, quiz and simulation results Continuous risk scoring and reassessment from subsequent actions
Delivery channels Usually a training portal and campaign email Slack, email, video, chat and automated workflows are listed examples
Governance and reporting Campaign dashboards and participation metrics Organization-, department- and individual-level views translated into business-risk language
Deployment burden Primarily a learning-content and campaign rollout Requires connecting enterprise data sources and governing automated interventions
Evidence basis Typically vendor or customer campaign metrics Fable publishes customer-outcome figures; the figures require customer-by-customer verification
Pricing and contract terms Varies by provider Not disclosed in the cited Fable materials

Does Fable replace phishing simulations?

There is no stated replacement claim. Fable lists phishing resilience as a use case, but its launch description focuses on using broader behavior signals and interventions. An organization could continue running simulations and use their results as one input to a wider program; whether Fable can displace a particular simulation product depends on integrations, coverage and the customer’s control requirements.

What results does Fable report?

Fable’s current customer-outcomes pages publish the following figures. They are company-reported customer claims, not results from an independently audited or independently validated study found in the cited material.

Claim published by Fable Reported result
First-year return on investment 43.8×
Reduction in click rate 86%
Increase in sanctioned AI use 82%
First-year savings $700,000
Reporting rate with a briefing versus without one 2.4×

Those numbers do not establish a typical outcome for every customer. The public material does not provide a common denominator, control group, customer list or methodology that would allow a reader to reproduce the figures across companies.

Board reporting and the “Human Behavior Index”

On October 22, 2025, Fable announced board-ready human-risk reporting. The feature presents organization-, department- and individual-level insights and translates behavioral data into business-risk language for boards, executive teams and department heads.

Fable’s cited launch and product descriptions do not publish a formula, scale or benchmark for a metric called the Human Behavior Index. Readers should therefore treat that phrase as a Fable product label unless the company supplies the underlying methodology. Before using any index in governance reporting, ask what events are included, how scores are normalized, how often they change and how the score maps to a measurable business loss or control objective.

Is Fable Security available to buy?

Fable is presented as an enterprise SaaS platform, not a consumer security product or a one-time download. The cited 2025 announcements and current product pages do not disclose public pricing, contract terms, a self-serve trial or a company valuation. Availability of the platform should therefore be understood as an enterprise purchasing conversation rather than an openly priced online checkout.

Questions to ask before an enterprise evaluation

  1. Which identity, email, cloud, endpoint, access and productivity systems have supported integrations, and what data leaves each system?
  2. Can security teams approve, edit or suppress an AI-generated intervention before it reaches employees?
  3. How are individual scores protected, retained and separated from employment decisions?
  4. Which interventions are available in Slack, email and other channels, and what happens when a user ignores one?
  5. How are phishing simulations, incident data and sanctioned-AI policies incorporated into the risk model?
  6. What calculation supports any claimed ROI, savings, click-rate change or reporting-rate improvement?
  7. What are the minimum term, implementation services, renewal rules and pricing units?

Bottom line

Fable’s launch marks a shift from treating security awareness as a periodic training campaign to treating employee behavior as a continuously measured security signal. The financing, founders and product scope are clear; the performance numbers remain vendor-published claims, and pricing and independent efficacy evidence are not publicly established. For a security team considering the platform, the key test is whether its integrations, intervention controls and measurement methodology produce improvements that can be verified in that organization’s own environment.
