What was Explorations by Norwegian?
Announced in October 2024, Explorations by Norwegian was a collaboration between Australian travel company My Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. My Cruises chartered Oceania Cruises’ Regatta for an itinerary advertised as 371 days, beginning in Rome and ending in London. The ship departed Rome on September 1, 2026, according to later launch coverage.
My Cruises General Manager Michael Middleton described the trip as a “world-first,” as quoted by Travel Daily. That is the company’s characterization, not an independently verified record. No independent record determination is established by the available reporting.
How many ports and continents were on the itinerary?
The published counts differ by source and date. Travel Daily’s October 2024 announcement report described 220 ports and all seven continents. A September 2026 account by The Times of India instead described more than 220 ports in 62 countries across six continents. These figures should be treated as attributed reports, not combined into a single settled count.

Travel Daily reported that the launch offer included return business-class flights from Australia, two hotel nights in Rome, onboard dining and beverages, Wi-Fi, still and sparkling water, and shore-excursion credit. The report grouped excursions under “onshore explorations,” “local discovery” and “active exploration.” These are details of the offer as described in 2024; the reporting does not establish that those inclusions or terms are available unchanged today.
