How much were Burnley’s released players earning?
Only two of the men named on the Premier League’s 2025/26 list have wage estimates in the wage table available here. FBref’s Burnley table, using data attributed to Capology, labels both figures “Unverified estimation.” They are not audited salary disclosures and do not confirm the amount Burnley paid or bore.

No comparable wage figure is established for the other men or for the women’s departures. Missing data should not be read as zero pay. Nor should these weekly estimates be multiplied into annual salaries: the available source does not establish how bonuses, loan arrangements, image rights, taxes, or other compensation are treated.
Which Burnley men were listed as leaving in 2026?
The Premier League published its 2025/26 men’s list on 10 June 2026. It divides 15 Burnley players into ten free transfers and five released players. These are the league’s categories, not a single undifferentiated list of players dismissed by the club.

The official list and its publication date are available from the Premier League. The league says the listed statuses relate to contracts expiring on 30 June 2026. It also cautions that a new contract could still be agreed, so the list should not be treated as a definitive record of who ultimately left.
What about Burnley Women’s released players?
Burnley Women issued a separate retained-list update on 17 June 2026. It names eight players under “Released” and identifies two more as leaving after mutual termination. The announcement publishes no wage figures.

How reliable are public football wage estimates?
Public wage databases can be useful for comparison, but an estimate is not a club payroll record. The methodology matters: Retained List says it compiles public reporting and disclosures and describes its figures as estimated gross weekly basic pay, excluding bonuses and incentives unless stated otherwise. That methodology does not establish the treatment of the two figures above; they are from a different table and are explicitly marked unverified. Without a source that specifies the payment basis, loan cost-sharing, or additional compensation, the numbers should be understood only as season-specific public estimates.

The Premier League list reflects information submitted for publication, not a permanent contract-status register. The league explains that contracts expire on 30 June 2026 and that a player categorized as a free transfer or released could remain if a new contract is entered into. A departure list therefore answers who was listed at that point, while the wage evidence answers a narrower question: which listed players had estimates publicly available in the cited table.
