At its Insights 2025 conference in Las Vegas on May 6, Epicor announced expanded AI capabilities for supply-chain and ERP workflows and unveiled Carbon Cost Rollup, a product-level carbon-cost feature for manufacturers using Epicor Kinetic. The AI announcement covered Prism and Epicor Grow AI; Carbon Cost Rollup was a separate sustainability-focused feature, not an emissions-reduction program.
What Epicor announced at Insights 2025
Epicor’s May 6, 2025 announcement paired two distinct developments: updates to its AI offerings and a carbon-accounting feature for manufacturing. The company said Prism’s latest agentic AI capabilities and predictive machine learning through Epicor Grow AI were generally available as of that announcement. That availability statement is specific to the date and does not establish eligibility for every customer, deployment, or region.
Epicor said Prism could help connected workers access and converse with ERP data, find insights, and automate bulk actions. The company described agents covering more than 10 supply-chain processes across finance, production, customer service, and operations. It said Prism was available for integration with Epicor Industry ERP Cloud, including Prophet 21 and Kinetic. These are vendor descriptions of the offerings, not independent product-test findings. How Prism and Grow AI differ
Prism: conversational assistance and workflow actions
Epicor positioned Prism as an AI interface for ERP information and work. Its announced use cases included natural-language interaction with ERP data and agents that could assist with tasks or automate bulk actions. For a buyer, the practical questions are which workflows are supported in the specific ERP product, what actions an agent can take, and how approvals and human oversight work in that environment.

Epicor described Grow AI as a predictive modeling engine on the Grow Data Platform. It combines ERP, legacy, and third-party data; business users configure pipelines to connect and normalize those sources. One named example, Grow AI Item Advisor, learns which items are often sold together and recommends related products during ERP order entry. These descriptions come from Epicor’s announcement and have not been established here through independent feature testing. Epicor’s release outlines the company’s examples and product positioning.
What is Epicor Carbon Cost Rollup?
Carbon Cost Rollup is a manufacturing feature within Epicor Kinetic that applies the logic of a standard cost rollup to carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e). Epicor said the feature starts with components in bills of materials and operations, calculates carbon cost at that level, then accumulates it through product tiers. In effect, it treats CO2e like a cost that can be followed through a manufactured product’s structure.

Epicor said Carbon Cost Rollup is designed to simplify carbon accounting and connect with existing cost-accounting software. The company described it as complementary to its Climatiq collaboration, whose carbon-footprint calculation API Epicor said had been integrated across its portfolio. Its announcement called the feature patent pending; that status is Epicor’s claim and has not been independently verified here. The announced scope is product-level carbon-cost calculation and rollup inside a manufacturing ERP. The available material does not establish that Carbon Cost Rollup is a standalone carbon-accounting service, a regulatory certification, or evidence that a manufacturer has reduced emissions. It also does not independently assess calculation accuracy or whether outputs satisfy a particular reporting rule.

What the reported AI results do—and do not—show
Epicor said its AI covered more than 200 use cases across business functions. The company also reported early results of up to a 40% reduction in communications from AI agents collaborating on suggested parts, suppliers, costs, and delivery schedules. That figure is an upper-bound company-reported early result, not a guaranteed outcome or independently measured average.
Epicor’s release also reproduced customer testimonials: Erica Breaux, Contracts Manager at New Wave Design, said the tool saved up to 50 minutes per question; Devon Ellis, IT Manager at Cascade Engineering Technologies, cited up to 55 minutes per question; and Jason Bassett, IT Manager at Madsen’s Custom Cabinets, said IT personnel saved 3–4 hours per week answering team questions. These are attributed customer statements published by Epicor, not results from an independently controlled study. CIO’s contemporaneous May 8, 2025 coverage likewise reports Epicor’s strategy and analyst perspective; it does not turn the company’s performance claims into independent benchmarks.

How the products have evolved since 2025
Epicor’s May 19, 2026 announcement described later developments in Prism, including Epicor Lux, an agentic design system for design, governance, and security, and Prism Agent Foundry, a workspace for building and customizing agents. It also named agents for MRP logs, freight spend, reasoning, shipment tracking, and freight insight, and said more than 30 additional agents were in development. These are 2026 product descriptions and should not be read back into the May 2025 launch or assumed to be available to every customer or region.
In that 2026 release, Epicor reported more than 70,000 monthly requests for Prism Knowledge Agent. It also said its opt-in ERP dataset supported roughly 40% of the estimated $54 billion U.S. independent wholesale automotive aftermarket. Tuffaloy Products CFO Daniel Epler was quoted as claiming approximately 85% faster shipment tracking. These figures are Epicor-published usage and market claims or a customer statement, not independent measurements. Epicor’s May 19, 2026 announcement provides the dated context.

What buyers should verify before comparing options
A useful assessment depends on the buyer’s ERP environment and the work to be improved, rather than on the AI label alone. For AI and automation, compare:
- Which ERP products and deployment environments are supported, and whether the relevant functions are available to your organization.
- Which specific workflows the system addresses, and whether it recommends, drafts, or takes actions.
- What data sources can be connected, how they are normalized, and what controls govern access and use.
- How agents are configured, approved, monitored, and kept under appropriate human oversight.
- Whether claimed time savings or operational improvements are based on independent evaluation, company-reported results, or individual customer testimony.
For product carbon rollups, ask how component-level inputs and emissions factors are sourced, how calculations flow through bills of materials, what systems and reports the feature supports, and whether the resulting method aligns with the reporting requirements that apply to your business. Epicor’s announcements describe the intended method and Climatiq connection, but do not provide an independent accuracy assessment or establish regulatory sufficiency.
