That launch date has passed: London Stansted Airport currently describes the direct route as operating on four-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft that include Premium Economy. Aircraft assignments can change, so the airport’s route description does not guarantee a particular cabin on any individual departure.
When did Emirates plan to introduce the refurbished 777 at Stansted?
Emirates’ 7 March 2025 announcement set 7 May 2025 as the planned start date for refurbished four-class Boeing 777 service from London Stansted. The airline said it might bring the deployment forward if an aircraft became available from refurbishment early. That was the carrier’s plan at the time, not a guarantee of the aircraft assigned to every Stansted departure.
Emirates later announced that Stansted’s second daily service, EK 067/068, was planned to receive refreshed 777 interiors from 1 June 2025. This was also a dated announcement, not confirmation of the current timetable. The airport’s present route page is the more relevant reference for the route as currently described; check live flight information for a specific date.
What cabins and seats did Emirates describe?
For the refurbished four-class 777 announced for Stansted, Emirates described 24 Premium Economy seats. Its announcement also captioned a Business Class layout with 40 seats in a 1-2-1 arrangement; that seat count applies to the described configuration and should not be assumed for every Emirates 777.

Emirates said the Business Class seats would provide direct aisle access, fully flat beds and personal mini-bars. These are the airline’s descriptions of its product, not independent cabin testing. The 25 March 2025 announcement for the refreshed Stansted second daily service listed 24 Premium Economy seats and 260 Economy Class seats.
Does Emirates currently offer Premium Economy from Stansted?
London Stansted Airport’s current Emirates route page describes direct flights to Dubai on four-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft that include Premium Economy. That supports the availability of the cabin on the route as described by the airport, but it does not establish which aircraft or cabin will operate a particular flight.

Emirates says its fleet includes different aircraft models and cabin configurations, and that products and services may vary by route and configuration. Operational requirements can also lead to last-minute aircraft changes. Check the aircraft and cabin for your specific flight with Emirates before booking, and recheck flight information closer to departure.
How can you check whether your flight has the refurbished 777?
- Check the booking: Review the aircraft and cabin information shown for the specific flight on Emirates’ booking pages or in your booking details. Treat it as an indication, not a guarantee.
- Confirm with Emirates: Ask the airline to verify the aircraft configuration associated with your flight, particularly if Premium Economy or a specific Business Class layout matters to your decision.
- Recheck before departure: Use Emirates’ flight information and Stansted’s live arrivals and departures pages. An operational aircraft change may alter the cabin after booking.
How large is Emirates’ refurbishment programme?
The Stansted service is one part of a wider airline programme. In its 28 April 2025 update, Emirates reported that 51 Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft had been upgraded since work began in November 2022. It said its expanded programme would cover more than 220 aircraft, including 110 A380s and 109 777s, with a reported investment of US$5 billion.
